The Kobe incident has made daily helicopter travel appear less attractive. Now sure, that's not fair, but it is what it is.
My improved method of transport is that I've eliminated a lot of travel completely. I work from home and have most of my consumables delivered. I drive less than 5k miles a year now, probably more like 3k. Not even justifying a new car, let alone a helicopter at this point. That could all change, but with the single-person flying devices we've seen come over the last 5+ years, I could see myself going that way if I ever need to traverse longer distances daily.
