That’s impossible to say at this point with the guys shaking off rust and Hader still being an unknown. The Rangers bullpen was straight ass in 2023 but somehow survived the playoffs. Jordan Montgomery went on an insane heater as well. Walker Buehler was great for the Dodgers last year in the playoffs and he’s ass.
I don't see the Astros making the playoffs. In the first half, I would have picked them. Now, I'm picking them to end up third in the division. Whatever is going on with all the injuries and trying to get back on the same page once players return is a mess. Plus, each player needs X amount of time to re-adjust (like their own personal spring training period) when they come back. I just don't see it the way the Mariners and Rangers are playing assuming they don't run into pitching injury problems of their own. The Astros feel like a wounded animal and the Mariners/Rangers are hunting them. Collectively, this team has lost its mojo. Ever since that very successful road series...it's been pretty bad. Just getting dominated by the Red Sox has been jarring. It doesn't feel that close. We won one game by a whole run. I dunno. This team is a mess imo. And, just saying "oh...so and so is returning" may not be enough.
roman anthony had 2 homerun going into this series. he now has doubled his number of homeruns after tonight.
Not a good look that they scored 6 yesterday and are bludgeoning us tonight. It's just one game but would've wanted a better outing from Gordon. It's been said earlier in the thread but how many guys can we reintroduce. As it looks like Garcia will be up by next week.
