Won the series, now get the sweep tomorrow.

Also, didn’t start but congrats to Blubaugh on his 1st MLB win.

Imagine Meyers/Yordan plugged in this lineup with Parades back next month

It’s a valid concern. Hader’s velocity was down a little recently and he wasn’t dominating anymore. His usage is pretty high this year. Big picture says it might behoove the Astros (and Hader) to rest him down the stretch whenever they can.

Lol this team is all over the place. As frustrating as it is when they can't hit off a batting tee, they just carry on.
Wish we could get a healthy Yordan back to close out the year.

Also hoping Sword goes for the sweep and not the see you, Friday lineup

Based on who we were playing, the hottest team in baseball (Marlins 24-10 in their last 34), this is about as good as we have played in back to back games this entire year.

I hated a lot more that Abreu pitching yesterday with a 6 run lead. Nobody in their right mind can defend that. Had a chance to correct that by pitching Sousa in the 8th tonight. Nope, he decided we don't need Abreu tomorrow. I mean, it's whatever.

That's the equivalent of the unforced error in tennis. It doesn't have to be this way.

He could bring up his batting average to .290 if he stopped smiling and being all jittery at the plate.
    Baseball is fun?

Its still just the Marlins. The Dodgers, Philadelphia, and Chicago series were elite baseball.

I would demote Gordon and let Blubaugh get a couple of starts in his stead. He's earned it tonight.

He's one of those players where say what you will, but you can never say he's boring.

Blubaugh showed he has legit MLB stuff today. At the very least I can see him being a valuable reliever where he can focus on velo. A lot of 97s tonight and he topped out at 98, the change he threw where it got past Yainer was nasty

I don’t understand the complaints about using Hader…

It is common practice to get a closer work no matter the score if they haven’t pitched in awhile…

How some posters who post so much don’t know that is bizarre.

Espada has also treated 4 run games as save situations for the better part of the last 2 years.

Its consistent. And usually if somebody gets on base in those situations, they’re warming up the elite guys… so I’m sure some advanced analysis showed that you end up using one (or both) of those guys anyways and making 4 run games save situations didn’t lead to an egregious increase in usage.

And who does Boone go to in a scoreless tie in the 8th inning?

Yep Devin Williams. And it blows up in Boone's face yet again. Can't even finish the inning. 2 runs given up with 2 more runners his responsibility.

Williams is a lost cause. Boone refuses to see it.
