My guess at the script synopsis:

When dimensional rifts begin tearing through the multiverse, the Avengers race to contain a mysterious incursion—only to discover it’s not a random anomaly but a calculated strike. The culprit? Victor Von Doom, who has traveled across realities on a secret mission: to raise Franklin Richards, a child of unimaginable cosmic power, as his own heir.

But Doom’s incursion doesn’t go unnoticed. Hot on his trail are the Fantastic Four, desperate to reclaim their son and stop Doom’s twisted vision of a future ruled by his iron will.

The confrontation begins with a shocking revelation—beneath Doom’s trademark green cloak, his armor glows red and gold, a warped hybrid of Iron Man’s tech and Latverian sorcery. Believing Doom to be Tony Stark, the Avengers leap to his defense, sparking a spectacular showdown between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Marvel’s First Family.

As the battle escalates, Spider-Man uncovers the truth: Franklin is not Doom’s ward, but the son of Reed Richards and Sue Storm, and his potential makes him the most dangerous piece on the cosmic chessboard.

Just when the teams begin to unite against Doom, he unleashes his final move—a handpicked cabal of villains from across the multiverse, including an alternate Thanos, a resurrected Ultron, and a Maestro Hulk. With reality unraveling and loyalties tested, the Avengers and Fantastic Four must form an uneasy alliance to protect the boy... and the multiverse itself.

Doom doesn’t want to destroy the world. He wants to raise its god.

Ehhh, Thanos, again? Ninja getting rode and put up like a wet carpet. I like the Ultron and Maestro bit, though. Seems like they're missing one or two supervillains to team up against the entirety Avengers and FF.

Thanos? Hey, it’s Disney—we’re lucky they don’t just slap mouse ears on him and call it a reboot. I stuck to villains we've already seen, so we can skip the origin story.

As for the lack of supervillains—Ultron’s like Lay’s potato chips: you can’t stop at just one. He practically invites backup.

Saw tonight. Don’t know what I liked the least between this and Superman. Both movies just feel ungrounded and I really don’t care to see a sequel of either

I agree with my girlfriend, “why is this in the 60’s” and “the bad guy felt childish”

Ouch. It just seems like a franchise that destined to never work cinematically. I used to love their comics as a kid, but their powers just don't translate from the page to the screen. It always boils down to me for Reed Richards in particular. A stretchy guy in a single frame can look amazing, but it always looks goofy, like inspector gadget or something, when appearing dynamically.

Galactus is such a great villain too. Oh well. (No, I have not seen this iteration yet.)

Cause along with Superman I would never recommend someone spend money in theaters

I actually think the last fantastic 4 from like 2015 was better than this one. Dr. Doom was at least scary popping peoples heads like balloons. Galactus didn’t really seem threatening at all this movie. As my girlfriend said “he kinda just walked around for a couple minutes”

Reed Richards' powers don't really work in the comics either - he's been in a lot of stories since the 90s and the newer Secret Wars - played big roles - but his powers were never really part the arc. Same with this movie. He's basically just there to be smart. They do similar with Batman in the Justice League stuff.

I think people just have unrealistic expectations of box office numbers in a post-Covid world. It's already the #8 movie of the year despite only being out for 10 days, and has a chance to end up in the top 5. 60-80% drops in weekend two are normal and that's right where this one is.

It's not going to rival the numbers of the past, but people in general just don't go to movies nearly as much. Total box office revenue last year was down about 25% compared to 2019. Even despite that, it had the 10th best July opening of all time.

I don't know what the expectations were, but this seems about as successful as you could hope for in today's movie climate.

The problem is that they haven't adjusted budgets to account for the fact that people are only interested in going to theaters for really good movies.

Fantastic 4 needed to make something like 600 or 700 million at the box office to break even. Superman conservatively needed at least 700 million to break even. Neither film is going to get there.

I'm interested in where they'll go from here, but they left Galactus in a bad place. He doesn't look like he's at a cosmic level of power; he seems like a giant, weak fool. I'm not sure how they can fix that without rewriting his treatment in this movie.

Okay well Galactus didn't get "defeated". They didn't kill him or hurt him, he simply got pushed into a portal by Invisible Woman who got the buff because she was a "mother saving her child" AND it killed her in the process. Once he got transported, he almost still escaped but it required an unexpected Silver Surfer to push him into the portal for good.

Remember, even though Reed Richards said it would take Galactus millions of years to get back to Earth, that scale is meaningless to Galactus. A million years at the human level is probably nothing more than a few seconds to him. This is at best a minor inconvenience to him.

Humans are ants to Galactus. Imagine you try to eradicate an anthill and then a couple ants bite you which delays you for a moment. Would you consider that the ants "beat" you? Or that you are weak? This is literally what happened to Galactus.
