Being an nba podcaster in the summer is a tough job. You literally have to talk for an hour regularly with nothing new happening.
Agreed but they at least get to talk about what they presumably love to talk about. I'd love to talk about basketball and get paid
I think Jackson is the best in the West. Hungry for more NBA I try the other Locked on podcasts and always the "intersquad" shows and Jackson is just plain better. He brings logical commentary, original statistical insights, and homer glasses with all the delusional enthusiasm that comes with it. The best part is he's aware of his homerism so there's always a slight ironic distance when he goes uncorked. My only complaint is I wish all of the local radio folks (looking at you Adams') would quit with the "native Houstonian" tag. I'm a native Houstonian, sometimes proud, but have never heard the heads in NY or Chicago ever say "native (blank)". Both places where I've lived for years and listened to hundreds of hours of sports talk radio.
And the other host, the Heat guy, doesn't even know anything about the Rockets. That's the frustrating thing about listening to other markets, and something Jackson seems to excel at, they don't seem to know anything except their team. The Heat guy questions the Rockets because we don't have "an established core with championship experience" WTF? Hello FVV and uncle Jeff? And two of our coaches have championship experience. So whatever. How many OKC Thunder had championship experience before last season. Anyhoo whatever. Heat guy dumb.
