    Hey Guys,

I was curious, when was the last time we went 0-2 to begin a season. What was the outcome of that season? Something for you stats guys to work on!

    99-00: Open with 5 losses.

Doesn't count, but 2001-02 had the depressing 15 game losing streak.

Actually, you are wrong, and I have answered my own question....I just went to the "Stats" tab on the homepage, which I never noticed.

We went 10-1 95-96 and won 48 games

We went 0-2 in 93-94, but ended up winning 55 games

    1999-2000 0-2, which became 0-5. Season record, 34-48.

Actually, I know it doesnt matter, but we've lost 5 games in a row including the last 3 preseason games. We looked really good against Chicago and Miami. We should have won both games in China. I dont know, something doesnt seem right.

I thought 93-94 was the year we started 15-0 or something silly like that?

True. And we also won 58 games, not 55.

    edc, you misunderstood me...(again)...
I was pointing out that just because you start good (8-3), doesn't mean that you finish great (45 wins, decent, but not great).

Some last year, after 8-3, may have predicted that we should have won 55+ games.
That was my point. We have knee-jerk fans that predict that the season is lost (after 0-2), just like we have knee-jerk fans that predict that we will have a great season (after 8-3).

Our goal should be to be a better TEAM. Not just win here, win there. Stay focused. Even if some of the other teams are doing better than us right now.

No, everyone would not agree we were playing better at this time
last year. It's silly to compare the two teams two games in but we were 1-1 last year at home, losing to Memphis. That is not what I would call playing better. And to put things in perspective here, we just lost two close hard fought games, to Detroit and Toronto, two teams that beat us last year at their place around midseason after our team had been playing together for awhile. I remember Detroit blew last years team out from the start and Toronto we lost to in overtime. But again, it wasnt to begin the season on the road with so many fresh new faces. So the circumstances were different.

I thought the game in Toronto last year was actually relatively early in the season?

It is noteworthy that the team could just as easily be 2-0 as 0-2 and everyone would be saying they are playing like crap but at least they are winning, but...

they're not 2-0, and they are 0-2. So, as the people involved so often say, one game at a time. If they lose to Memphis tomorrow, there will certainly be more concern. If they lose to Sacremento on Saturday, 0-4 or 1-3 won't be feeling that pretty either. If they win the next two, 2-2 will be alright, especially considering both wins will be against the west.

The other ting to note is how the other teams are doing. In the west, the potential playoff teams are already doing well, while the Kings and Rockets are both 0-2, but the Kings have played the Mavs and Spurs. Hopefully, the Rockets can beat Memphis and beat Sacremento, putting the Kings in a 0-3 hole and evening up their own record.

It's because of our schedule. We lost back-to-back games on the road, one
of them was against the defending champ.

Last year Toronto's game was the 4th game I think. That Bosh kid killed us with 3 in the OT. The year before, we ran away with a narrow win in Toronto with Yao almost fouling Carter the last shot. Toronto has been a tough place for us. We are not a road team, but I would like for it to change.
