Padres GM makes trades just to make trades. The amount of young talent he has traded over the years is staggering.
This is an insane guarantee you just made. I'm fairly convinced the Urias deal is a clear signal that any potential Correa reunion was pie in the sky hoping. It was never a valid consideration.
That's the way I'm betting man. IF he's back it will be late and who knows if his timing will come back
If Cease were cheap, he would already be an Astro. Padres want more than you would expect for a rental with a 5 era.
I personally hope you’re wrong because I think they need to add but I think you’re right. I think they want to land a pitcher now based on information being leaked tonight.
Those ****ers cost us a world series in 2023 not trading us Snell and Hader when they absolutely 100% should have thrown in the freaking towel. So freaking dumb.
I’ve never really understood the dynamic of the trade deadline in the baseball. In a sport that’s so random and requires tremendous amount of good fortune, acquiring even a top level player may only increase your odds of winning the World Series by a couple percentage points. However, trading away the farm and mortgaging the future does seem to have a consistently negative outcome. It’s just really weird.
With Suarez going to Seattle the Mariners are the best team in the AL at the moment Not a good sign that we have flipped off of Cease to Alcantra Come on Dana let’s get something done
10.5 hours to go, my final 2025 hypothetical trade: Astros get: SP Sandy Alcantara OF Jesus Sanchez $16M Marlins get: OF Jacob Melton P Miguel Ullola P Ethan Pecko P Bryce Mayer IF/OF Shay Whitcomb OF Chas McCormick This gives the Astros a good (but not elite) lefty bat and a controllable SP we all expect the coaches to get back to ToR form. My rough math says the money Miami is eating would keep Houston under the CBT. In return, Miami gets 4 of Houston’s top 10 prospects plus Whitcomb and McCormick, 2 change of scenery candidates. I still have hope for Correa but I would like this trade a lot. Resulting playoff roster: SS Pena 2B Altuve DH Alvarez 1B Walker LF Sanchez C Diaz 3B Urias RF Smith CF Meyers Bench: Dubon, Caratini, Matthews, Trammell SP: Framber, Brown, Alcantara, Arrighetti RP: Hader, Abreu, King, Sousa, Dubin, Okert, Javier, Garcia, Walter The offseason would see Dubon traded to clear room to sign a backup C and Paredes take back over at 3B, pushing Urias into Dubon’s role. McCullers takes Framber’s spot on the pitching staff, all the other pitchers return.
I'm convinced after the Urias trade that the Astros will acquire O'Hearn today. Would be an absolutely perfect move. Gets Altuve back to 2B. SS Pena LF/DH O'Hearn 2B Altuve LF/DH Alvarez 1B Walker C Diaz RF Smith 3B Urias CF Meyers Bench Caratini, Matthews, Dubon, Trammell He's a rental so he will come cheaply. Full season projection: 26 HRs 86 RBIs Basically gives us back the pop in Paredes' missing bat. The backup option is Cedric Mullins.
Good Morning All. Let's see what today has in store. I will start hitting the refresh button around 12PM
