I was certain Sengun would at least be a Yao-level center (different style but similar level impact) until he forgot how to shoot this past year. And this offseason they're saying he's trying to develop a 3pt shot. Honestly I don't know what to think about him.
For me there's something like a Jose Altuv-esque mindset the great ones have. The never seem to buy their own hype but are always working to improve. Call it growth mindset or whatever. This is the first offseason as a muti year multi millionaire for Alpi. As long as he stays humble and hungry I think he's going to be great. He doesn't seem like the type to rest on his reputation and expects more from himself than even we do. That's what I hope at least. I'm pretty much an optimist about all these guys so my bias is definately rocket red colored lenses.
On his birthday party, while he was speaking to the crowd, he said he hopes to come back there as an nba champion. That’s a weird thing to say imo and good news for the rockets. Looks like he lives with that in his mind 24/7.
To be fair he didn’t say at what he will surpass jokic. There is a decent chance Sengun can win more rings than jokic.
