I'd just point out that Jon Singleton made it all the way to the majors. People can make mistakes while MLB players. A lot of people don't listen until they encounter difficulties.

With all the injuries and our horrible hitting against rhp I'm glad he's here if only for pitch hitting.

Meh, I don’t think so. I’ve been to several Space Cowboy games with my 6 yr old son and Big Jon is like a leader there. He’s the typical AAAA guy you need around AAA and AA.

For all we know, he’ll hit a HR and flip his bat into the opponents dugout. We need body’s that can play at this point.

Out division sucks so much ass that we are in contention with over half our team out. Like how do you deal with that lol

Very nice to hear that about Singleton, and awesome that yall are going to games

The Houston Astros are 2 games back of having the best record in Major League Baseball.

Jon Singleton is going to hit a home run in this next game.

Sucks for him, but given past history, I am sure we'll see him again next year.

I think that’s probably it for Big Jon (at least with the Astros)

If you can't make it on this roster with all the injuries, it's just not in the cards for you...............sucks cause he seems like a good dude, but you can't say he hasn't been given chances, and I have a feeling we will see him again

Eh, it’s not that black and white. His age is definitely working against him now, but he’s still perfectly capable of posting a league average offense playing 1B or DH or as a pinch hitting bench bat. There’s a lot of guys like him out there. If he wants to go make another $1M in Japan or Korea over the next 2-3 years, he probably can, otherwise he can make close to that doing what he’s done this season for at least another year, shuffling between AAA and big league rosters. What’s crazy is there was only 1 year (2022) that he didn’t make big league money because his extension ran thru 2021, so in the end he really didn’t lose out on a 9 figure pay day.

Not a bad career. It’ll always be a shame that he lost 7-8 seasons where he probably could have been a star if not for his own mistakes and league policy on weed, but to carve out 500+ big league at bats after all that is something he should be proud of. I really liked watching him hit in 2023 and 2024; always the chance of a majestic HR and not much chance of him being uncompetitive.
