The lack of respect to the schedule right after the ASB by Joe of not pitching Framber vs Seattle is insanely criminal. We could have taken 2 of 3 from them.

And if I have to hear one more time that we saved left handed starters for Arizona...... What an insanely stupid reason to hold out your very best option vs a team desperately trying to just stay in the race.

In this 4-6 stumble out of the gate, Framber had pitched exactly once. Make that make some gdamn sense.

Old Joe is just lollygagging it at this point. And now we find ourselves in desperate straits all of a sudden.

And he didn't even give the extra long rest to the correct starter. It was Brown who needed it. How does he even miss that? Seriously how.

It’s a miracle any of you all actually survived a previous 162 game season, let alone the nut-vice that the playoffs are.

The funny thing is, these stretches happen to all teams… but its happening literally to a AAA team right now and some people are still trying to twist into a pretzel thinking that there’s an obvious solution besides needing more talent to play regularly (and less AAA guys to be here period).

At least there’s comic relief knowing who’s who. And next time when somebody ***** on WAR (especially when it’s in the negative), you can recall the time the team literally proved its worth in real time.

Astros went from leading the AL to a "broken" team in four games. I don't think I have ever seen anything like this.

Given that most teams get a pretty decent scouting report on unknown guys after X amount of AB’s… this timing actually is pretty spot on.

The pitchers may take a little longer to scout…. And some of the guys have just had some bad games… but we’re now 2 weeks after the all star break and none of the guys that were rehabbing are coming back this next series (well, maybe one will).

All these injuries make me not even want to watch. It’s so disgusting our roster

Except they didn't become a broken team. They lost some games. After winning some games. After losing some games, and winning some before that. It's how baseball works.

And if you're been watching baseball at any point in your lifetime before this month, yes, you have seen it, repeatedly. Even if you've only been watching baseball this month, you'd also have just seen the Tigers, who had the best record in baseball, lose 12 out of 13 games over the last few weeks. If you watched baseball during the Astros first WS run, you'd have seen the 104 win Dodgers lose 16 out of 17 games in the middle of the season. These things happen.

I can't imagine how you actually get through a day of your regular life. It seems like if you have lunch 30 minutes late, you'll spend those 30 minutes freaking out about how you're destined to starve to death.

No one is in desperate straits. You're just a lunatic.

Since 2017 the Astros have been swept by the A's in every year...that they went on to win the AL and play in the World Series. Probably find many of the same comments in those series threads about this team being cooked, and those teams weren't playing with a AAA team.

I applaud the effort… I was wondering what brought you back onto the board as some of the lunatics have been scrubbed for awhile.

Can’t imagine what happens during playoff games for some posters. But unscrubbing that post for a minute did remind me that it’s largely a DNA problem. Last year it was the inability to win 1-2 run games (which is luck). This year they’ve been winning too many of those… I did wonder if that led to some reciprocal asinine credit (but I presume not).

So what are you saying? Are we going to win some games or lose some games next? ESPNBets wants to know.

I try to stay away, but I come back during the interesting times - trade deadline, injuries, playoffs - because there's good information here.

But some of these people make for a fascinating look into how society has devolved into what it is. The inability to process information well or to have a perspective lasting more than 24 hours is endemic in society and it shows up in everything from politics to how conspiracy theories thrive, etc. It's interesting to see all the same traits but in a sports context!

    Same feeling here. Exactly.

Its nice to read from the classics for multiple pages at a time instead of the one-off.

They likely are if none of the IL guys come back…. Luckily they’re all playing some form of the sport (in some fashion) across the country…. Minus Meyers and Paredes who won’t be back this year.

    Huh?

Paredes literally likely tore the hamstring (which is not your calf muscle) completely. Meyers had a “significant calf” injury enough that he hasn’t started doing anything… not running, not swinging, nothing.

Meyers injury is probably as close to an Achilles without it being so. Same thing they brought KD back from in the playoffs before it eventually popped.

This really isn't the time to criticize fans for being upset at the poor play.

Yes, a million injuries etc. etc. It still absolutely blows watching your team lose 9/10 at home and 4 straight to the laughing stock of the league. Outscored 32-6 not even competitive at all.

But we all ****ing get it. You're the calm, cool, collected type leading the calvary through tough times. Good for you.
