I like it. Good to have a young development guy since we had no draft this year. He has championship experience too. Nothing not to like about this one except that he's not a great shooter. Of course...

    We need a SG that's over 6' 4". I am not impressed.

Yeah, the one who is no longer here was an unreliable shooter, the other one was a head case, and was just a streaky shooter, while the only one who is left can't shoot. So, let's have one more dunker who can't shoot?

Aren't the other 2 way guys both SGs over 6'4?

I don't get the nerd rage about Davison...
We have $0 count against the cap for the GLeague MVP of last year. OK, so he can't shoot, but did we actually expect to get a backup PG who has a 45inch vertical, can shoot 45% and is already an NBA champ for $0??

I'll take 2 of the 3 and live with the fact he most likely won't play much this year anyway...

The question is: How do you reinvent the team if KD gets injured? You have to have a two way SG ready to come in immediately and produce. We traded that away with Whitmore. We have no insurance.

I didn’t like Cam leaving either, but if you see it as Cam for Okogie + 2 2nd picks, it’s not that bad.
What I see is that we will have a really powerful G League team, with JD Davidson, Kevon Harris, Isaiah Crawford… in case of an injury, they can play 5-10 quality minutes with the Rockets. Any of them is an upgrade from Nate Williams, who had an NBA roster spot

Who was our last g league mvp? If it was Harty, then Bam. If it wasn't, then disregard this post.

Was that Garrison Mathews? How on earth did he go from rotational player to Exhibit 10......

I am confused with this dude. JD Davidson on all sites say he is only 6'1 but he plays like Cam Whitmore dunking the ball in traffic and doing alley oops lol wtf.

Like he is the size of Cp3 and FVV and smaller than Kyrie but somehow he dunks as much as Amen. That is some insane athleticism.

From what I can see our 2 ways can actually turn out pretty good only Kevon Harris sucks ass but JD and that other dude seems to have potential.

If KD goes out, Cam would not have been insurance. Come on fam, get it together.

To be fair, we also got even taller/longer by swapping Jalen and Dillon for KD and DFS. Aside from FVV and Reed everyone in the rotation is like 6'7" and up now, and can guard up with at least a 7' wingspan.

Anyway, I know he isn't gonna play for the most part, but Davison should be fun to watch during garbage time when we blow teams out. Saw he dropped 46 in the G-League last season. Kid reminds me of Nate Robinson

Son what's the terms of the deal?

    10-day?
    2-way?
    Full Contract - 15th man?

    Edit:
    NEVERMIND! I looked it up. It's a 2-way

Yeah it is, though I do understand the trade off. Hopefully Amen gets some creative ones in, we already had the Harden years where we contended with the least exciting brand of basketball to watch ever.

Cam would have been insurance at getting points production. As it stands now, we have no one to slide into the SG as an efficient means of points scoring. FVV and Reed are both too undersized to run as PG/SG on the floor at the same time. You have to view the team from an offensive output perspective. If the offense is flowing through KD and KD has injuries, then we are cooked against a high output team. We won't be able to keep up. The insurance isn't to be the same as if KD wasn't there. The insurance is to have points fill in the gap while the D locks down. Ideally you would have a SG who can jump in and seamlessly account for 15-20ppg to keep the floor spaced.

If kd gets hurt for a long time we are not a top.team.no matter.what we do at this point. The question to ask is what happens of key supporting pieces like Eason get hurt. Hopefully thats where guys like okogie come in

I don't think that is true. We can win any game with grit and strong outside shooting. That's where a strong SG to fill minutes with KD's absence would work out really well. Instead of a 30ppg drop off, you are looking at more like 15ppg drop off, which can be made up on defense and increased production from other positions. OKC built the perfect team with their length. SGA at 6' 6" and Jalen Williams playing a guard/forward role at 6' 5". FVV and Reed will be exposed against that length. Amen Thompson can fill in at SG, but he's really best using him as a PG/Point Forward player so that he can use his size advantage. Give me a 6' 6" SG with this team and we are perfect.
