Is this a teaching technique with the Astros?! Something doesn't add up.

I'm honestly about to write off Walter, considering that he has a Tommy John *and* rotator cuff surgery on his record

Can we bring back Kyle Weiland at this point?

Word on The Street is that Kyle Weiland loves the Island Life.

Like WTF man, now Walter is down..............it seems like we have caught a ton of breaks in-between the lines but the decimation of our team in on another level, I have never seen anything like this. I think the Astros need a full-blown audit of the medical staff and the trainers, I am sure some of it is just dumb luck (Like Pena getting HBP) but all the arm issues and soft tissue injuries raise a RED FLAG.............maybe it's just bad luck, but when you're investing this much $$ into players you have to at least ask why................what are we doing differently than other teams, are we trying to get the spin rates up where its taking a toll on our pitchers?

Dodgers have 17 players on the injured list, which is one short of this team... which is also ridiculous.

Pitchers coming back softens this blow, but this crossed "ridiculous" territory a long time ago.

So all those complaining why Espada pulled Walter before getting to 90 pitches... I guess we have our answer why.

Not exactly a coincidence, given the emphasis both clubs have on spin rates. And both have had more than enough success to justify the cost.

I would love to say he’s approaching a career high in innings and they are just being cautious, but we all know that’s not what it is.

I swear to God I just texted him the screen shot. His response:
That’s hilarious, tell them I’m ready!
Worked with him professionally some. As good a dude as it gets.

not surprised. this is the most innings pitched for his career, no?

i wouldn't be surprised if Hader is next to be on the IL

I don’t know. I’ve always thought that you should 15 day IL your best 4 relievers in shifts from 7/1—8/31. A 15 day break during the dog days isn’t necessarily bad if you are October focused.

I definitely prefer reading quotes from the player rather than the front office or coaching staff. That quote gives me a little hope Walter just needs some rest. Get Blubaugh up and give him a few more starts until Javier and Arrighetti are ready.
