I can’t stand Bonda, and he does have a little connection within the organization. He got super butt hurt two years ago about a trade he called out before anyone else. He didn’t get the credit, and he cried harder than any Karen I’ve seen.
With Walter going on the IL, getting a SP has to be at the top of our list I know we have guys coming back allegedly, but my God
The Twins only have 3 players under guaranteed contract past this season: Correa ($32M/yr thru 2028), Pablo Lopez ($22M/yr thru 2027), and Byron Buxton ($15M/yr thru 2028). Trading Correa would clear the payroll of by far its biggest obligation. It would not surprise me if the new ownership requested a clean payroll slate before taking over. Buxton has a NTC and has said he doesn’t want to be traded but his contract isn’t onerous. Lopez would bring in a big prospect haul.
I already thought we needed one. I might hedge my bet and figure that Walter will come back so stick with just getting the one.
The Astros still have good minor league depth. Blubaugh and Ullola both look plenty ready to come up and help over the next few weeks until the cavalry arrives. I don’t disagree that if Walter is out for the season, then adding a ToR SP becomes a major need, but they don’t really need depth.
I wonder if it’s not Carlos…but Alex. He doesn’t have a NTC but fits better than Carlos at this point IMO.
Yankees not getting Suarez . . . McMahon headed to NYC from Rockies for a bag of chips and a chipotle server
Seattle is still going after him hard. Heard reds were interested but they aren't close to a playoff spot right? Unless they want to do a sign and trade for him. Cubs maybe???
Why is he a better fit? Carlos can play pretty much any infield position and is cheaper than Bregman.
Didnt read it. Hes overly opinionated and an annoying follow on twitter(I unfollowed awhile back), but he definitely has inside sources. To what extent? who knows. Hes made a few hype videos for LMJ and his return from tommy john and the beginning of the postseasons.
