Some cool viral marketing and ideas here: https://screenrant.com/28-years-later-movie-trailer-hidden-message-memento-mori/
Caught this one today. It's different from the first two in its own way but enjoyable. It's set nicely for The Bone Temple next year. Spoiler did the zombie get pregnant and then turn or was she impregnated after getting infected?
Spoiler: Spoiler Not really clear although it seems to imply that "Sampson" got her prego by the way he was chasing down the child..... Movie really changes courses about two or three times but I really enjoyed the decisions Boyle and Garland took to give us something different than the previous entries, could have used more of Ralph Fiennes but overall found it very strong but sure to be divisive. A- from me, looking forward to the sequel.....
Spoiler I have not seen it and probably won't for a while, but based on the different comments I've read, it sounds like the movie ends on a cliffhanger. Is that why everyone is saying it is divisive?
There is another coming out in Jan 2026. The Bone Temple. @Blatz Spoiler I wouldn't say it ends on a cliffhanger. It's more setup for a sequel.
I am not clicking the spoilers but I am not hearing good things about this movie Alot of people had out right dogged it Rocket River
Yep, believe its already finished filming and should be released in January or February of next year if I remember correctly....
Seems like it’s just a bit all over the place (like two movies in one movie). I may still go see it in theaters
Watched this last night. I'm in the camp that didn't care for it much. Maybe a 6.5/10 or so in my opinion. Spoiler Had no clue what the story was going to be. This was a coming-of-age movie and the main character was kinda meh. He's far too naive. The emotional points didn't really land to me, either. I didn't like how the infected "evolved". I had watched the other movies this past month. In 28 Weeks Later, it's established that the infected starve to death after 5 weeks. But we see bloated infected, normal infected, pregnant infected, and hung ones. All of them are naked, implying they have been around long enough for their clothes to dissolve. Did the alpha impregnant another infected or was she pregnant before infection? I'm leaning to the former. How did they get to this state? How did they evolve? It just left too many questions unanswered. And let's talk about the Chav Squad at the end. They're pulling off Power Ranger moves with no concern for possible infection from melee range. They must be good to have survived for 28 years, but they took no precautions for overspray like Dr. Kelson did by covering himself in iodine. It just seems very out of place in a movie that's trying to be grounded in reality. Plus talk about how random that end scene was with the cold open. I had no idea this was meant to be a trilogy to tie into more movies. So those scenes felt very random. I guess my disappointment was more about not expanding on the lore. I'm kinda more interested in the world building.
