McCormick played rehab games in the FCL over the break and should be back this month. The others have not had updates but I expect Pena back in early August and Meyers and Alvarez back in September unless they have a setback. Melton, Rodgers, and Guillorme should be back in August. Dezenzo and Leon are likely out for the season. Javier and Garcia have made rehab appearances and should be back in August barring any setbacks. I expect Arrighetti and France back in September. Blanco and Wesneski are out until 2027, Dubin is probably out for at least the rest of 2025.
Meyers is the one I worry about the most. It would be interesting if Chas is back and gets a chance in CF because Meyers is down. No way he keeps it if/when Jake returns but this may be his chance to regain some value. And if Astros strike out on upgrading CF it may give us all a little hope. I actually expect Pena back before August and could see Yordan returning soon after. As for pitching, it looks like a few will get back shortly after the deadline. Overall I'm pretty optimistic.
Deep dive on the schedule. We also have predictions for the second half, some all star notes and some interesting draft stuff this week. Check it out- subscribe (free). IF you do that will put you in drawing for free playoff tickets.
I don't know man- the way Dana was talking about Garcia I'd be surprised if he comes back this year (maybe ever).
The Yordan injury just pisses me off....or should I say the MISS Diagnosis pisses me off, the what if`s just piss me off worse.......could he have been ready to go today if they didn't screw the pooch........................UGHHHHH
Jesus, that is longer than I thought on all of them. There is no way we stay in first place with this patchwork lineup. DD
I mean- we probably will stay in first with the patchwork lineup. Snake is super pessimistic about injuries. Don't listen to him. Astros ALWAYS come back earlier than expected. It's science.
Chas was activated and assigned to the bench Corona sent down. Guess i'll have to drink Modelo tonight Go Astros
I mean- back this month is way later than back today from how it sounds. Arrighetti is getting sent to AA. No way he should be all the way into September to come back- he should be back in 20 days or so- even if not fully stretched out. It’s not arm stuff it’s just a broken bone. Alvarez swinging a bat could make that assessment overly pessimistic. I have Peña back for the Nats series but first week of August isn’t too terribly different from that. I think you are correct on all the guys not coming back and I suspect that might also include Meyers.
If Chas can't start over Trammell, either they don't believe he can still play CF or they don't think he can play at all. Chas may not even get a chance to keep a spot when Dezenzo and/or Meyers return or they trade for another bat. It sure looks like he is done as an Astro.
That caught my eye too. Why would he fly there? Maybe he’s close enough that the coaching staff wants to see him up close?
