It's an argument I'm willing to make that using illegal labor is not only wrong it's immoral. It enslaves a group of people to low wage jobs and drives down wages for all other workers. Also you've got illegal child labor being used on the pot farms in California. You good with this?

Before you use the they do jobs Americans wont do, lets see if Americans will do those jobs. I think they will because I grew up on a farm hauling hay, loading soybeans in to hoppers on tractors to be planted. Picking bushels of corn and purple hull peas. My thing is I dont want child labor to be exploited although I grew up working at a young age. It's different when you're working for your parents or your parents friend than what was going on at that pot farm.

Immorality is a different argument than an argument based on economic benefit vs cost of illegal aliens. Again, the latter is a loser and I’m glad you are pivoting from it.

I am of two minds on the morality of exploitation of illegal immigrant labor in the US (excluding child labor, which I will address separately). In a better world, we would have an easier/faster path to citizenship that would allow this labor to flow in legally, we would raise the minimum wage so people can afford a reasonable standard of living, and so on. But in the world we live in, exploitation of illegals immigrant labor immigrant labor “works” for both parties. Even with low wages, the illegal immigrants are often better off than what they had in their country of origin. Hence it is the deal they make. It is an unfair deal, but the best deal available to them.

We already know Americans won’t do these jobs. You don’t want to accept this, but all you need to do is to read. Run google searches and you will see many articles about this. You can call it fake news if you want. You probably will because it does not support your world view. But the information comes from Trump supporting farmers, construction companies, etc. They have said their illegal workers fear deportation and are not coming to work, and the legal citizens they have hired cannot do the job. They either quit because it is too hard, or they do a much poorer job.

I will ask you a very simple question - why do you think Trump has stopped deporting illegal immigrants in farming, construction, hospitality? If American citizens were willing and able to fill those jobs without collapsing those industries, why would he create those exceptions from deportation?

As for child labor, that’s easy. Of course it is immoral. It may be true in many circumstances that illegal immigrant children working in pot farms in the US is better than what they would have in their country of origin. But it is still terrible.

As for the last 2 paragraphs in your post.

    1. I do work for around 10 different apartment builders in the state of Texas. (Houston/Austin/San Antonio/Dallas and the surrounding ares. (Also down in the Valley, the only place we dont do work is West Texas. Some are as big as 2 to 10 billion dollar companies and none of these companies are reporting labor shortage issues.

    2. Agreed explotation of children is a terrible thing. Let children be innocent for as long as they possibly can be.

On a different topic, but kind of the same, this is why I hope the pedo's on Epstein island fry. (Even if it's proven that Trump/Clinton are pedos I hope they both fry.) But this must be proven and not just a bunch of accusations. The DOJ has the tapes. They know who's on those tapes. What I really want to know is, what did the FBI seize when they got the warrants to raid Epstein's properties.

Millions less in "illegal" immigrants removes their economic activity. Some of these were given legal status and just having it removed.

You are wrong. Either FLA or GA or both started arresting illegal farm workers and the crops did not get harvested. Google it.

It is time for you level up on facts.

Watermelon, Berries, Tomatoes, Peaches, Corn, and many more should be getting harvested by now. I have no idea what is happening on the farms, as I'm not plugged in, but these are the crops I know are in harvest season in GA.

I do recall it being a problem years ago when Alabama tried to crackdown on illegal immigrants.

Limiting someone's earning power is a Republican thing now?
or is it only limiting THE POORS?

    In another note
I hear they about to pay ICE AGENTS 100K a year
I don't want to hear another complaint about a 15$ / Hr minimum wage
or how your taxes pay for Free Lunchs

This is just another way to supplement certain folx
and harrass minorities at the same time

This is the new Coal Mines with the Klan attached

    I appreciate that.

Is it the claim that "Watermelon, Berries, Tomatoes, Peaches, {and} Corn" are now rotting where they lay? and I'm not trying to be a pain about this--I simply do not see and don't seem able to find any direct evidence that anything is "rotting" in the fields

I was a person who grew up working on a farm and there are people willing to work on farm that aren't minorities. I've got friends who still farm and their kids work on the farm. It's a generational thing.

20 million? I'm seeing numbers that suggest it's more like 25 million. Yes, you read that right--30 million illegal aliens. I can't believe we've got people on this board defending a marionette doll-of-a-president who let in 40 million illegal aliens. That's 50 million illegal votes for Biden! If I'm mathing correctly, Kamala got 75 million votes, take away those 70 million illegals' votes, and she only got 5 million votes!

    Insane!

That would be the idea. I'm unaware of it being a problem around here. Honestly, haven't seen/heard of any large scale ICE raids on the farms here. The ones I read about in California were on pot farms, which is an easier target than food.

I do think it is probably mostly hyperbole at this point. It is certainly not large scale as of now.

you cite your personal experience in construction and past experience with farming as a basis for your opinion.

How do you square that with the fact that Trump is not deporting illegal immigrants at the request of farmers, restaurateurs, hotels and construction companies …. across the country?

The only reasonably conclusion is that your anecdotal information is a small sample that does not jive with the bigger picture truth of the role of illegal immigrant labor in these industries.

Universities lost their way... they became incredibly partisan and then they lost control of their finances... leading to runaway cost inflation for tuition. Accountability matters, and Trump is restoring accountability to these academic institutions.

But seriously, how can liberal universities sit there an attack half the country for decades and not expect a counter-punch? They deserve everything they are receiving right now -- fairness is being ushered in.

Yawn. Save your MAGA bullshit for someone else. American Universities have been the envy of the world and you clowns have destroyed everything good.

Nobody with half a brain thinks your cult leader is restoring anything but corruption

The Jewish community -- a huge donor to universities -- was repulsed by the pro-Palestine and antisemitic treatment during the Gaza protests. Obviously several Ivy League administrations handled this very poorly and had leadership shakeups as a result. Commercially speaking, the Jewish community is not the one you want to discriminate against -- Muslims give comparatively very little in the form of donations and have far fewer academic and professional achievements.

These universities have been stifling conservative speech for years, and were no longer representative of America by only catering to liberals. Trump is doing what he can to open the door to free speech, to freedom of political belief, and to half the country who disagrees with the hyper-liberal policies of these universities. Trump is actually saving the universities from themselves by forcing them to be balanced.

Ha. Harvard has filed suit against the Trump Administration and has the backing and support of the other top universities in the country.

Trumpers can go ahead and attend Trump University, Liberty religious wacko school, or southeastern state community college. Their admissions standards won’t be too high but they’ll be glad to take your money.
