That's correct. We have a health crisis in our country. Way too many people are severely overweight. Honestly, in today's world of information, wealth, access to weight loss drugs, access to gyms and fitness centers, and access to all types of foods (including healthy foods)... being fat is a choice. It shortens your life, it impairs your quality of life, and it diminishes your opportunities in life (be those jobs, friends, or sexual partners). Honestly, I am shocked at how people just let themselves go. I think there's a mental problem attached to it. There must be because why would someone voluntarily choose to be fat? I am personally repulsed when I gain an extra 2 pounds. I cannot imagine what goes through the minds of people who are 20-30-40 pounds overweight, and some people are even larger.
