I work from home and have a lot of down time so I was thinking about door dashing a few hours a day to make some extra spending money. I drive a 12 year old car that's paid for so I'm not concerned about the wear and tear. Gas is negligible since I work from home. Seems like easy money. Drive to Chic fil a, pick up bag, drive to home, drop off bag. You don't even have to talk to anybody. Anybody have any experience doing this?
How much do you enjoy traffic and other drivers? I delivered pizza back in in the pre uber days it was not a tough gig if you have a comfortable car I have friends that do it the profit is not as high as they would have liked i.e. they make 50$ but on 20$ worth of gas over the course of 4 hours Rocket River
Over here most of the drivers are E-bike drivers......but I guess it is the land of automobile vehicles.
Thinking about it, not a terrible idea if you can pick up an order on the way to your destination and have minimal downtime. And if you can get something going back you're double-dipping.
Not sure if this is 100% correct but it's something (see below). I had a one year pass on one of the food apps and it was great as it didn't charge me any fees so I would tip better, my pass ended, and I was shocked at how much in fees they were charging and haven't done it since AI Overview DoorDash drivers, or Dashers, can make varying amounts depending on several factors, but the average hourly pay in the US is around $16-$24. Some Dashers report making $1,500 per week or $14.40 per hour after gas expenses, while others report making $700-$800 weekly. The actual earnings depend on location, time of day, demand, and performance metrics like customer satisfaction and completion rate
I am in Tokyo right now. I see a lot of bikes doing it. That would be a cool way to do it. Exercise and everyone having great road manners plus some extra money.
You shouldn't trust eating out period. They make the food presentable and taste good but use the bottom of the barrel ingredients just to pay overhead costs and make some profit. You looking to cut out chemically extracted seed oils look elsewhere.
