I think this has more to do with derek carr retiring. People waiting to see if tyler shough gets fully guarenteed since he will be a starting QB.

 

Pay them early to build good will then sign them before you have to for an even better deal

 

The Chargers rookies reported on the 12th and all showed up except for 2nd round draft choice Tre Harris. Considering he was pick #55 (the 23rd pick in the round), it's possible all 30 2nd rounders will now hold out.

Nick really stirred up some mess. At this point, I doubt the full guarantee goes past Higgins because these players have no leverage.
