Wouldn’t surprise me if true and honestly, it saved them from a big headache. Turner is not who he once was and he probably wanted to win. Good riddance I’d say.

Mixed feelings on Turner. His game seems to be declining and you can't pay for past performance but for what you expect to get over the course of the new contract. Especially when there are limited dollars for future extensions with Mathurin and Nesmith

Bottom line is the Pacers miscalculated the willingness of a team to do something drastic (and IMO stupid), like stretching/waiving Lillard and in essence devoting >45M/yr to a combo of dead Lillard cap and Turner's salary.

Milwaukee likely gave Turner the offer and clearly stipulated that the offer was void if he went to Indiana to get a matching counter-offer. They wanted to stick it to the Pacers and not be used as leverage.

Turner needs to STFU. He thinks he's a all-star / all-NBA guy and he's a complementary piece that just played a finals series in which as a starting center was not among the top 10 in rebounds. Then he has the gall to say that he left to "stay competitive" for a title. EFF him and the Bucks. Adding a soft as Charmin center while subtracting Lillard, I'm not seeing an upgrade for the Bucks next year, even with Boston imploding and the Pacers without Tyrese.

Brings to mind an interview he had after a game with Denver and the always positive Pacers announcer merely asked him about the challenge of facing the league MVP, Jokic. Turner took it as an insult and said "I'm a top center too".

    Ego run amok.

Yeah, he's full of it. Saying he left for "competitive" reasons is an insult to everyone's intelligence. He should have just admitted the Bucks made a much bigger offer and he accepted.

The upside is Turner going away might be a very good thing for the Pacers and they don't have to take the blame for it.
