Still Kept gambling on defense in passing lanes, going for steals when a player drives and unnecessarily rotating off his man. Needs to stop doing this

I don't know if this is AAU type defense or new gen is trying to go for stat. Both Jalen and Cam did the same. Jalen got better in his 4th year.

Yeah I dunno why he can’t just be patient and stay in front of his guy. He seems to be more determined to guard guys further out and getting low in his stance which is good but loses focus once the ball gets rotated. He rotates off his guy to go after another guy on the perimeter this shifts the perimeter defensive rotation leaving a guy open. I didn’t get why he went for steals a few times when they drove on him. Very frustrating to watch. Hopefully coaches saw this and he cleans it up. Bad habits i suppose.

I was a bit surprised that he ran out of gas. He didn't play much last season, mostly because he was quite shaky. I don't think he can play more than 15 minutes a game during the regular season, until his stamina improves.

probably because he expended a lot of energy on offense and played a bit harder on defense trying to make a statement to the coaches, which is a good thing.

Yes, but I feel he will need to improve his stamina in the off season.

Being SL, it’s hard to know how much weight training he’s been doing in the gym. From the look of things, quite a bit. Clearly, cardio hasn’t been a priority yet.

Everyone ragged on me when I said Jeenethan Williams is the worst player in Rockets history. Once again I am right and everyone else on this board is wrong. It’s painful watching Nate Williams play. Can’t and never could hit a three pointer for his life, can’t and usually doesn’t pass, he’s a turnover machine and everyone in the Rockets organization and on this site thinks he’s the next LeBron. Rockets going nowhere if he’s on the roster come October. Right now he’s scheduled to get a lot of minutes as the main backup (at least on paper) to Amen. Good luck to us making the Finals if that’s the case. Awful, awful, awful player!

Quit making excuses for Williams….good energy and effort….give me a freaking break. Let’s give him an effort award for his 3 million dollars. Worst player in Rockets history. Seriously, never seen a worse player wear a Rockets uniform and I’ve watched this team for over 30 years….oh but he hustles so that’s something. I can shoot better threes than him and I’ll give a decent effort too chasing guys down who steal my passes, for 3 million a year. Be prepared as he is slated to play a lot more as the main backup (on paper) shooting guard this season. He’ll be starting games where Amen gets hurt. Hopefully Udoka saw what I’ve seen for a long time last night and figures out that Nate sucks….but doubt it.

He'd be a decent option .... but no way the Rockets are going to sign anyone right now.

They are only $1,281,127 under the 1A and are hard capped at that 1A.

The 2nd year Vet Min is $2,296,274.

Since NBA salaries are pro-rated, that means they have ~55% of a 2nd year vet min to spend .... which equates to ~45 games of pay. They can't sign someone to fill that 15th roster spot until after the 37th game is played.
