Spurs are rolling, yeah, I can see his first year just doing it all and not shooting it all that well. Better Offense would develop in time due to high talent but it would take time.
Carter Bryant looking good tonight for the spurs. Between Bryant, Castle, Harper and Wemby they are probably the team with the best young talent not named the Thunder. But will eventually have to get a real shooter.
He had 3 showboating blocks in his first 7 minutes, then somehow vanished a little and because it was a huge blowout I guess didn't play the 2nd half. I think he is projected to be just a defender initially.
One SL game doesn't mean much but if you're (still) a Mavs fan you'd rather he be good on offense than bad. Cooper will almost certainly be at least good to very good, but people started elevating him to the degree where you'd think he was a guaranteed superstar i.e. LeBron, Wemby. There's a very real chance he never gets to that level, although he might.
They already had that.....he is probably going to be some version of Franz Wagner with more Defense...... Depends on if he can be better than Franz on Offense which is not that likely.
I'm not sure what he will end up being at this point, but something like that is a real possibility. If I were a betting man I'd bet on him ending up something along the lines of Paul George, with the sliders moved around a little bit. A star player but not quite good enough to lead a championship team by himself
I really don't think anyone is projecting him at that superstar or future superstar level. Lebron is a top 10 all time so that's unfair to expect anyway. Wemby is projecting to have Bill Russell's defensive impact paired with KAT's 3PT shot and rebounding - 99.9% chance Flagg will never match that impact. He's for sure going to be really good, but if he doesn't develop a deadly 3pt shot in the NBA he will not be in these conversations at all. I think the likely outcome is something between a Julius Randle and a Kevin Durant - which is a max-worthy player you can build around. More in the Nowitzki/Tatum kind of tier at most. He will need a superstar sidekick to win a title. IMO he won't be in the Hakeem/Curry/Jordan/Nowitzki/Giannis tier where he is by far the best player on a title team.
I see him handling the ball and he is not that bad at it, I don't recall PG handles now.....PG was a shooter which I don't see him becoming. I am confident that he will be a harder worker than Ben Simmons so there is that. He will need to shoot and score to progress......has a wider range of archetypes he can grow into.
40 minutes of defense drills to start his training... Ime's trying to turn this elite shooter into a defensive specialist. For real though, I think it's good. I'm at least just as concerned with his handle though.
