Is that a $100 million dollar backcourt? That even makes the million dollar man blush.

LMAO! That's what I picture Trump doing back when he was younger when he was done with one of his p*rn star hookups.

It is worse, they have $157M for the season tied to just the shooting guard position with Beal, Allen, Green, and Booker. This is before Booker's extension even kicks in which is $53M next year. You don't even have a true PG out of those four guys.

Even if Beal is bought out, they are still paying him most of that, Allen I believe gets traded. If the team is bad then I can see them trading Jalen Green to build a better roster with less redundancy around Booker to give him a shot, if that fails then Booker will demand out. They are headed for potential disaster.

There's a world where they manage to make smart enough roleplayer acquisitions in the draft and with vet minimum deals etc to make the playoffs with Booker, but they'd need to have a really great front office for that, like Sam Presti level. I don't think they will pull it off personally.

$105 million dollars per year for Booker and Green. A backcourt that doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell in winning a championship.

Rockets entire '94-'95 Championship team made a total salary of $17 million.

Crazy how inflated the number have gotten, and frankly, I think it's partly ruined the game.

my understanding is that he’s a born again Christian now. Nothing wrong with that. Just think it’s kind of funny.

How did they think that was a good move? I understand that he's their guy and wants to be a one-team player and all that jazz, but how can you build competitive squads when that much of your salary is taken up on one guy and you have nothing else to really work with? I guess the most important thing for them is making Booker untradeable? Weird ****ing move tbh

supposedly his representation pushed for an extension right now given the lack of stability with the franchise. The Suns didn’t want to lose him. The next couple yrs would have been dogged by rumors that he’s gonna bolt and the Suns don’t want to go into a full starless rebuild since they don’t have their picks and would have to deal with like 3 or 4 different teams to get them back. They are desperate. Booker’s people know it. They struck while the iron is hot. Think of it as a loser tax the org had to pay for not going full rebuild and being likely out of contention the next few yrs. They clearly feel they have a better chance to get back to eventual contention with Booker than without him and did what they had to do to keep him.

Where did I say he was? Do you think he's now very tradeable considering nobody can match salary without giving up stars AND several other players?

Yeah so it's just all about keeping Booker then. That's the only way it makes sense. Otherwise why would you sacrifice so much flexibility before you've even resolved the Beal situation or managed to move Jalen to somewhere for a better fit? It has to be that they just see it as Booker is their guy and their main focus more than building the best squad for the team.

I thought Suns actually did excellent on the draft but they turned around and messed it up with the Booker extension. If I were their GM I would've just traded for a young piece and their picks back for Booker then get what they can for Durant with another team, but as a Rockets fan I'm glad they didn't. Them getting size will help them a lot though.

It's called mismanagement and Phoenix is putting the person ahead of the team. Foolish.

This was the obvious route, but they didn’t take the easy way, they’re choosing the hard way. It’s going to be painful especially if Green bombs over there and tanks his trade value. They could have traded Booker to Houston for their picks and been on their way with the rebuild. This is just dumb.
