Basically Spurs extracted themselves early from the convo and Heat were not interested in giving up Kel'el Ware.

    /End.

Very early on, we decided the deal had to look a certain way. We articulated that. Then, I don’t want to say we were done, but to a certain degree... that’s kind of where we were.

If that ended up being something they (the Suns) wanted to pursue, then great. And if not, then we understood. So, there wasn’t a ton of back and forth. I don’t know what it was like on their end, but from ours... making money work in the NBA is hard. There were very limited ways to do it.

Once we figured that piece of it out, I think we knew from a value position we were giving what we thought was a lot. I think they did great in the trade. I think we gave them a tremendous amount of value. That was it from our perspective, and they had to canvass the market, and do whatever they had to do on their end to get comfortable. Eventually, they did, and then the deal happened.

But it wasn’t one of those three weeks of negotiations, at least not from my perspective.

Anyone remember that Gambadoro guy being on a campaign about how the Suns weren't happy with the offers and wanted more. Sounds like they were just trying to get the Rockets to blink but Stone stood his ground.

In Stone we trust. By all observations this guy is meticulous, detailed, and good at negotiating.

I just dont like Kevin Durant. I think he's toxic and just mouths off in the media. I really dont like the trade. I just dont like KD. All this bs he says in the media comes back at us now.

Jalen and Booker about to make each other worse. It's going to be a real shitshow over there.

Obviously these stats are somewhat skewed and should be taken with a grain of salt, but if Jabari goes 18 and 9 this season on that piddling contract, Stone is some kind of miracle worker.

Sir, if Jabari goes 18/9 and shoots from 40% from long range this season, I'll take it with or without salt. :)

Health is my only concern with Durant, I have zero concern with how good he will be on the floor.

He's still elite, and even if he loses a step I don't see how Durant isn't still a really valuable player in year 3. He may not be elite scorer level, but his length and shooting ability won't fall apart. He will still be a god tier supporting scorer at worst IMO.

If we still "need" him to be an elite scorer in year 3 than the core moving forward won't be title level regardless.
