Has anyone got a clue on what's happening with Tari's extension talks?

I'll be relieved when he's locked down for a reasonable figure, whatever that number may be. Didn't even hear an update on him even after Jabari getting the bag.

I fear we might be too far apart.

I think they're going to get Durant's extension sorted out first. Hopefully he takes a team-friendly deal.

Yep. I think the goal will be to stay below the 2nd apron next season. That gives the Rockets about $70M to work with for Durant and Tari without having to move someone to stay under the 2nd apron. I think the Rockets were expecting to have $75M to work with for Durant and Tari before learning the cap would only go up 7%.

I don't think any of us have a clue, but my wild guess is they'll get something done by training camp, maybe much sooner.

I don't think so. Ime is phenomenal at gaslighting bench players.

A lot depends on if the leg injury is fully behind Tari and if he's not having to be load managed this upcoming season.

I’ll be very excited when we have Tari locked down. Low key I think his shooting is improving. I think he’s gonna get past the injury issues. I trust him. Best motor in the league. I love our core 4 of Sengun, Bari, Tari and Amen. Here’s to hoping Reed can prove himself as the 5th member.

Tari will likely have to prove himself this season before that happens, mostly just that he can stay healthy.

If Reed pans out, that could be the Rox starting lineup for the next decade after KD’s done. Who needs a Core 7. We have the Fantastic Five.

Dont be so quick to end things we have juicy picks and swaps incoming lol

Honestly Stone has crushed the rebuild so hard if only OKC didnt exist I'd have us pegged as the next dynasty by now.

BTW I am not concerned with Tari, we can make him a restricted free agent. Sooner or later a deal will be done.

At least OKC’s guys are already getting insanely expensive so their dominance might not last forever.

You do realize that it is coming from a system......but yeah the Defense would just take a toll from being Number 2 to being Number 5.....

    lmao.

He'll be alright. I think the Rockets need to see how healthy he can be before coming up with a reasonable figure.

His value largely depends on him staying healthy.

Also, he is not a $25 million dollar a year player... not yet atleast.

He may want Jabari type money (which, fair, he's been at least as impactful when on the court) and the team might not want to give it to him given his injury history. I hope we can get him locked up on a number that works for both parties, but I think there's a real chance he goes to RFA.

I am not sure committing on him for long term is a good idea because of health concern.

Long term is fine, if the number is right. If he wants Jabari level money the back half of the contract better be non-guaranteed. If he'll take significantly less in exchange for a guarantee (like $80M / 5 years or so) then it's worth the risk.
