The Orlando Magic aka Can they get over the Hump

This really depends on Paolo and Franz.

Paolo is great around the basket and draws fouls like crazy. Fortunately for the rest of the NBA, his mid-range game and 3-point shot aren't good enough for the volume he shoots those. Basically, when I've watched, defenses just collapse on the paint clogging it up for Paolo and the other Magic players.

The Magic win by defense right now. I'm skeptical Bane by himself can fix the offense. Paolo has had stretches of great play. He needs to be more consistent. I worry as the Magic add shooting to free up Paolo, they will lose some of their defense.

On Franz, I think he plays better without Paolo. I think Franz works better with the ball more, and the defense not collapsed by Paolo. The Magic typically play better defense with Franz and no Paolo. Mostly, I think Franz and Paolo get in each other's way so far in their careers.

I think there is a good chance Paolo is an All-NBA player this year. If he earns it, the Magic are set. If he wins it by just scoring a lot of points without improving his efficiency, his salary will kill the Magic.
