Stone is saying Reed has to be good because the team needs him to. There's no one else. They didn't go out and add any other backup guard capable of playing 6th man minutes every game...Hence there is no other option...he has to step up and be a good player this upcoming season and they obviously believe he will....Otherwise they would have added a real contingency...I think people are reading way too much into the "he has to play well" and "we're not a developmental team anymore" stuff... It's in the same category as "Jalen was blitzed and it's on his teammates to take advantage of that" and "we really believe in continuity and are comfortable bringing back the same team".... ....Yeah, up to a certain point.
Man, I don't want to tell you how to be a fan, but how could you look at this off-season and the last couple of years and be so miserable? I think this is a really exciting time for the Rockets.
