There are a lot of mad people in America - but a lot of people were subdued by the last election results and the strangle hold on the SCOTUS.

You also have to realize that people here are inundated with news and constant knew transgressions and eventually don't know what to think.

Also - the USA is the most insulated country in modern history. For all the claims of ICE roaming the streets, and tariffs destroying the economy - so far there has been close to zero actual impact in the USA from the perspective of most Americans.

Also - there is a lot of gas lighting all the way around, and people after awhile just focus on their family, jobs and friends.... the news in Europe is typically factually accurate, but it is skewed as to what it is actually like living in the USA.

We already have a third party. And a fourth, fifth, and sixth. Libertarians, Green, Constitution Party, Working Families Party, Socialists, and more. Adding more parties doesn't do ****. With a winner-take-all electoral system, we structurally are doomed to always be dominated by 2 parties. If Musk's party catches fire than necessarily one of the Democrats or Republicans must die out. That is how it works. We cannot escape the duopoly with our Constitution intact.

More realistically, they will be powered with natural gas and maybe nuclear. Data centers are high load factor -- they need roughly the same amount of power day and night year-round. And in very large quantities. They each need fully dedicated power plants to serve just them around the clock. So something that can burn continuously. Renewables are ill-suited to them. Now, of course, electricity is fungible because the grid is just a big lake of electricity. So having no-variable-cost non-dispatchables like wind and solar contributing when they can in order to keep prices down is still a good idea, especially when total demand is escalating. But, just saying so everyone is aware: don't expect new coal to get built for data centers and don't expect renewables to be built for data centers. It will be mostly gas and -- if we can figure out how to build one quick and cheap -- nuclear that gets built. Wind and solar will still get built on the merits of their investment cases. And coal won't get built because of the merit of its investment case (though Trump will force some old and dirty coal plants to stay open despite owners' plans to shut them).

And the America First Party will do more harm to those parties than they will the 2 that matter. He could just as easily be funding the Libertarian party, or maybe even the Forward Party.

The craziest thing about 3rd parties is that they are so unsuccessful, that being independent of a party is more successful than being a member of a 3rd party.

We should look to do Ranked Choice voting nation-wide to help 3rd parties escape the wasted vote issue, as well as to avoid costly Run-Offs that often see sharp decreases in turn-out.

At the end of the day, Jared Issacman is well respected. Image for a brief r****ded second that we had an opportunity to put in the NASA administration a guy who is well respected and hands on the industry. Not some stupid bought and paid for DC admin. For 4 years. That’s all.

I have no opinion of Jared Issacman, and honestly the tweet from President Trump made President Trump look bad, not Musk.... I don't trust most of what Trump says based on history. For example, there is no way that I believe that President Trump told Musk he would end his support of batteries.

this is what Issacman just posted in response. While I am not trying to get you to for an opinion, he is very diplomatic and respectful to everyone.

this used to be the norm in politics. Now it’s just a jester show across the board.

I don't have any issues with Isaacman - I don't have an opinion on his nomination, as I really don't know enough to have an educated opinion. My issue is with the Trump tweet, as all it did was incriminate the President.

Is Elon connecting with Yang to figure out why his third party hasn’t won a damn election and put out a single effective politician so he can do the opposite of what Yang did? That’s about the only reason why Elon could find benefit in talking to Yang.

Yang became popular because he was speaking to a section of Democratic voters who have common interests but their roots are Democratic in nature. Some might even say Democratic Socialist. There is no constituency Yang has with the Elon Musk antisemitism doge white nationalist conspiracy theory crowd. Maybe there is a little overlap in the tech crowd but those are mostly would be donors who are just going to flip to who has the power in the end anyways and aren’t married to either Yangs Dem Socialist or Elon’s fascistic brand of politics.

Yang and Elon’s constituents are diametrically opposed. I don’t understand what both men would get from any sort of partnership other than pissing off their followers on the issues they care about.
