[Shams] Norm Powell to Heat, John Collins to Clippers, Kevin Love & Kyle Anderson to the Jazz

Clippers just turned into the 8th seed.

 

So annoying. The Heat just landed Powell for basically free.

 

Not sure what motivated LAC to make this move, Powell was a borderline all-star before the injury. But Collins is the exact type of big that thrives playing next to Harden.

Could see Beal signing with the Clips now.

People mock the Heat and Pat Riley for making lopsided trade proposals and then **** like this happens. Just keep plugging away with terrible offers until you find a dumb trade partner, I guess.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Clippers probably didn't want to pay Powell with his upcoming FA status and with Bradley being rumored to be working on a buy out, they probably intend to pursue him. John Collins is a good player, good defense and offense.

 

I hope Clippers don’t get Beal. He should play for us instead. Clippers can reunite with Chris Pull.

Powell is a 32 year old supporting scorer who is about to get overpaid. If they are able to add Collins and Beal, that's an awesome fit upgrade for the Clippers.

The Heat are still a rudderless non threat, but getting Powell for nothing does make them better. I guess their hope is to keep shuffling the deck chairs until they get good enough that another star forces his way to south beach.

I am really surprised a salary dump is all Utah could get for Collins. He a bit of a defensive liability, but still a really talented guy who does a lot.

 

Sounds like the front office is being wise knowing that James and Kawhi are not going to be top players for much longer.

 

His mileage is okay, he came in as an old 22 year old ----- 9-10 seasons.

 

At least we got the double bigs to challenge the Clippers and Powell was definitely the best player in the trade, so without an extra move this makes the Clips worse.
