Still terrible but at least something to build on. Carrington is nice. I saw him live in DC.

This is a perfect encapsulation of your basketball knowledge. Watch highlights then assume you know something. For literally 25 years I’ve had to read your moronic takes on marginal players. Takes that are said thousands of times. Over and over. I know I’m not the only one that ends up hating guys you fall in love with just cause you like them. That’s how terrible you are.

Reed was sent to the G League anyway. That "favoritism" outlook should have quickly ended.

Total minutes 1st 6 games last year:
    Cam: 47
    Reed: 39
Cam played MORE minutes than Reed to start the season.

Then Cam had a DNP, played a 5 minutes garbage time game, then went to the G League.

Cam at that time had 1 total 3 pointer, 3 total assists, almost fouled out in 2nd game. Season started in October. Cam didn't get his 2nd three pointer until almost CHRISTMAS.

If an offense only player like Cam is not hitting shots, he's darn near unplayable. It does not seem Reed was "gifted" time. It looked like Cam played himself out, or attituded himself out, or both.

Even if Reed was given free minutes.. Imagine the #3 PICK IN THE DRAFT not being expected to play meaningful minutes. (And the ego blow for Reed himself, of rare event of #3 pick sent to G League). Should Cam be mad that Amen "jumped ahead" of him too? That's like Jaesean Tate being mad "I was a STARTER on this team, they're playing them Tari Bari Shmari whatever boys over me, I can't get no minutes now?"

I have an unfortunate account of trying to give the "high ability but me-first attitude" types some "mentor" counseling and space. It cost me, and them, and everyone, badly.

Everybody hates Draymond Green, but that's basically what people want in a coach. To tussle with the rowdies. For the Cam Whitmores to be "reigned in".

Wow, didn't realize how many guards/wings they have until I saw it laid out like that. Cam is still going to have to earn his minutes, lol. That's a team needs another big man

I think they are one of the teams doing it right and they will get there. Just collecting assets and seeing where it gets them. Pretty much the winning formula in today's NBA.

Just collect your draft picks and put them on the floor and see what you got.

When Bruno was on the Rockets, Ime was still coaching the Celtics.

Ime played both Sengun and Green heavy minutes for 2 years, so your excuse doesn't make sense for Cam.

I still hate the return value, but want to remind folks who are still upset about the trade:

There were no 1st round picks out there for Cam. Cam would likely not have rebuilt his value if we retained him going into the season, in fact things might have gotten worse with the attitude. Cam is mid way through his rookie deal so that works against his value. Even the Suns passed on Cam in favor of terrible 2nd round picks. Oh yeah, Cam wanted out!

im disappointed but there just weren’t great options for the org. two potentially good 2nd round picks is not a catastrophe. Would I have rather Cam got 15 min a night off the bench instead of trading him? For sure. But if Cam wanted out, this was the best we could do. And we maintained our good guy reputation. No one is gonna care about this when we are wining.

There are really not that many impactful power players that have the combination of size, power and speed.

He better get it together in the DMW, the market demands it.

Oh FFS - those are just easy to see examples.

You seem to be the moron, who can't figure out after 25 years how to use the ignore function.

If you don't like a guy, don't like him but don't be such a beta that you have to blame others for shaping your opinion like them or not on your own, didn't realize this country was raising such weak minded people that they can't handle a difference of opinion.

I like Cam, I think he will be special, I have never said that about another player - those MARGINAL ones are generally about getting a shot as the one ahead of them sucks.

You should know that if you have been here that long and are paying attention.

And yes, I have haters - anyone willing to stand up for a side, gets haters, it is the way of social media these days....oh well...

Possibly not. Just wondering if a vet was assigned to him and if it would have made a difference. Sheppard was tied to FVV right after he was drafted probably because of their physical similarities, but Jalen and Sengun also worked extensively with him despite being nothing like him. Sometimes very young players are assigned to a vet before their rookie season even begins, like Andrew Bynum with Kareem and Kobe Bryant with Byron Scott. Bynum wasn't a great student apparently, but I can't imagine it hurt to learn from a legend.

Cam wanting out wasn’t new information to HTown and it’s not like Ime would have been upset had they traded Cam earlier. Cam should’ve been dealt on draft night when teams were busiest. Stone likely could’ve gotten a late 1st, Hell Brooklyn had 5 -1st rounders.

At the very least you could have started the clock over on another rookie deal or flipped that 1st for a future one. But the deal they got was subpar.
