For content reasons... Zach Short's scouting report from Baseball Prospectus... it is not promising:
2024

The Zach Short nominative determinism lineouts will continue until his batting average improves. The Tigers designated the light-hitting utilityman for assignment this offseason, and his hometown Mets picked him up, which was nice of them.

2023

Another year, another comment befitting Zack Short's name. Beyond his walk rate, at Triple-A he gave the Tigers few reasons to give him a longer look in the majors, and the odds are against him extending the length of this comment in the future.

2022

Martin Short rejuvenated his long career with Hulu's "Only Murders In The Building." It had much better ratings than infielder Zack Short's one-man show, "Only Murders In The Middle Of The Strike Zone."


2020

Zack Short is indeed diminutive and is indeed a shortstop. He needs to get more length out of his bat if he’s going to start in the bigs, but his defense and baserunning should lift him.

2019

Nominative determinism is on Zack Short's side, unlike his Double-A strikeout rate. He can definitely play short, and the on-base skills, power, and above-average performance at every level all point towards a future major league contributor, even if the batting average comes up a little...short.
