I doubt Jalen is ever an All-Star.

This coming season, he'll probably average 20+ ppg with the Suns because his FGAs should increase. His efficiency probably won't change much because he's programmed to take tougher shots than he's capable of efficiently hitting.

The most important thing to him now is his next contract when he opts out in 2027.

I'm sooooo glad the Suns took his $35 million/year off the Rockets' hands.

Jalen's game still depends largely on how well his jump shot develops. Last season he still largely played the same way on offense as he always has--struggled to finish around the rim consistently, no really effective midrange game, not a great passer. The one thing he really has going for him in the halfcourt game is that he can always create space to get his shot off. Of course he can also play in transition with his speed.

I think his absolute best-case scenario is to make an all-star team or two in his prime, but he will need to get significantly better as a jump shooter to do it. I put the odds at around 5%.

The other weird thing here is that the fit on Phoenix seems super awkward. Maybe they make Booker more of a point guard, and I could see him doing well in that role, kind of like the shift Harden made around the same age. If that's the case, he should draw plenty of perimeter defensive attention and set Jalen up for easier looks than he got in our offense? That's the only way I can see Jalen benefiting from this situation. If they have Devin continue to play the way he always has, it's just going to mean fewer shots for Jalen and probably quite a bit of frustration.

Don't forget a tighter handle. How many times did we watch Jalen get strip over the past few years especially when the opposing team put a ton of pressure.

'From the host that would have drafted Harold Miner over Robert Horry.'
