I inhaled too much dust yesterday. All I can grow is corn because of all the dust. Dust is all in my house. And, Pop left on a spaceship to find a new planet to live on. What’s for dinner? Corn casserole….again! Oh you say the Dust Storm only lasted a day? Come back, Pop!
I don't think I've seen a dust storm this big. Dust Bowl vibes. https://bsky.app/profile/weatherwest.bsky.social/post/3lkouwnbr422w Edit: Photo covers about 71,000 square miles according to Google Maps.
The flooding in Central Texas appears to be West - Northwest - Southwest of you, so you appear to be safe at the moment. Is it possible that your area will be impacted by the runoff from the flooded areas?
yah…..I don’t know where Buck is, but I know it’s hill country-ish. I’m in Connecticut today reading about this and came to CF to hear his take. Let us know you are safe. The news is CRAZY!!!
I have the Marble Falls area (NW of Austin) as his Home Base, but he does seem to range beyond that. Areas further from Austin such as Kerrville and Llano are some of those being impacted by the flooding.
Guadalupe River flooding kills at least 24 people in Texas Hill Country; Houston girl among those missing _________________________________ ABC 13 Weather has some (many?) of the Lakers in the area with low water levels, so they have the storage capacity to take most if not all of the water coming towards them. The current struggles are with the rainwater overwhelming the creeks and rivers that feed into the Lakes.
The deaths and flooding especially at the kids summer camps is devastating. We have wanted a rain event like this to fill our lakes, but not like this. DD
