not sure if yankees will be up there for the rest of the season. perhaps they're just going through a bad slump. they're not even leader of their division. Blue Jays are currently leading and Rays are breathing down Yankees' neck.
Dodgers ERA is 4.26. They are far from a guarantee come playoff time. Don't have a closer. Pen is constantly in flux.
The Astros do a lot of things well- resigning their best players is not one of them. Bring in Rafeal Stone.
Had a few too many tonight, but oh man this is my favorite dub of the season so far. How sweet it is. Cheers, fellas
Correa is an abject disaster in Minnesota. Springer largely a disappointment in Toronto, although he's having a resurgent season. Bregman already missing considerable time injured and he's making $40 million a year. Verlander we re-signed and he led us to a second World Series title. Tucker traded for a great young star in RF and a more than solid 3B. Alvarez a steal at $19 million a year. Altuve signed to essentially a lifelong Astro contract, still performing at a fantastic level. I would argue our track record is quite good regarding these huge decisions. That being said, we royally screwed up prioritizing Javier over Valdez. Valdez is a rare 7 inning quality pitcher commodity. You're happy when Javier gives you 6 innings.
That is sexy as hell. Hopefully we still go for one more impact bat. Window is now. Pitching looks great. Hope we go for it regarding an additional impact bat.
The point isn’t whether the Mariners can catch the Astros. Of course they can … but then two other wild card teams must pass them also, which is unlikely. Again, the bonus for winning the division is just playing at home. Nice but relatively meaningless compared to skipping an entire series. The obsession with winning the division is misplaced under the new rules.
