It's weird to me that so many don't seem to understand what the role of a PG is anymore. I think years of undersized SG's being penciled in as PG's has skewed the perception. Also it's weird that some would want Amen to abandon what he's best at in order to play out of position doing what he's not good at. Oh well
Cause Amen is probably going to be the best creator with his ability driving to the rim especially the more comfortable and confident he becomes. Even if Reed becomes a starter I see him being more off ball with Amen being the engine on offense
You’re wasting your time with BTG. He sees Reed as the next Steve Nash and Amen as Shawn Marion. Anyone that gives a contrary opinion on Reed’s role is an idiot in his narcissistic mind.
If one has this opinion, one should be for FVV as PG until Reed takes over, and should have had the opinion that Jalen Green needed to be moved. I expect Reed will be like FVV in that he sets up the initial action, then goes off ball to let Amen, Durant, and Sengun cook. As such, I expect Reed on ball a decent portion of the time especially early in the clock, but rarely at the end except as a catch and shoot option.
It has nothing to do with Sheppard. Amen is a starter, the ball is more secure in FVV's hands and KD will have somewhere around 30% usage. They aren't having Amen as the primary or even secondary ball handler when those 2 are on the court..... especially when you factor in that he's much better off ball
I think with Durant instead of Green in the lineup will largely change the dynamic on offense. With a reliable bucket getter, I expect FVV to shoot a lot less. I'm interested to see how Amen and Reed will be used, especially Amen. Reed will likely play with the second unit without Durant.
