Being that KD and Cam are from the same Tri - State area maybe they can develop a bond, where KD can show Cam how to practice and most importantly be a MEDIATOR between Cam and Ime. I think the Rockets need Cam and they would be foolish to trade him.
Ime set a standard and stuck to it. His job is done, and well I'll add. This is 100% on Cam Whitmore. Not Ime. Not KD. No one else but Cam Whitmore. Think KEVIN DURANT wants to come here and be a mentor for someone who isn't taking the game seriously? What kind of absolute schlub isn't taking the opportunity to learn from an all-timer? Like what kind of schlub even needs to be told that's the opportunity? Think someone has to tell Jabari or is he like a kid in a candy store who can't wait to talk to the candy man? I'm pretty ****ing sure no one has to tell him he's got a golden opportunity to learn something here. But no one has had to tell him to play hard either, so it all tracks. Play hard, play right or don't play. Cam's been making the choice this whole time. There are enough minutes, what an absolute lie getting parroted by the Shield. If he would play hard and play right he'd have been getting the minutes this whole time. Who he has to beat out, Tate? Holiday? Williams? 3 guys who work hard. That's why he can't get to the court until white flags are waving, and his pity party during that time just confirms it.
Good lord, I’ll never understand this board’s obsession with Cam. So far, all I see is a selfish player who doesn’t play defense, and, frankly, hasn’t impressed me much offensively given it’s his sole trait at the moment - his TS% wasn’t far removed from Green’s last season. Obviously he could turn it around, but worrying about KD acting as a “mediator” between Cam and Ime? Give me a break.
Maybe kd can show cam how to pass the ball. I heard that our coaching staff never shows how to pass the ball.
All the reports suggest it's Cam who wants to move on, not the Rockets. Y'all are ****ing weird man, Ime's not the ****ing devil he's the literal saviour of the franchise ffs.
It seems that a lot of assumptions are being made about Cam and Ime. There may not be any bad blood between these two at all. Ime didn’t give Cam as many minutes as some Clutchfans would like, but it may not be anything personal. Maybe Ime just played the guys he thought gave the team the bast chance to win. Meanwhile, Cam seems to have poor body language, but maybe we are reading too much into that. It may mean nothing at all. Sure, players want to play. But not everyone on the team is going to be in the rotation. Cam may be disappointed he’s not getting more minutes, and Ime may want to see more from Cam before he gives him more minutes. But, I’m not sure these two guys have given up on each other. I could be wrong, but I’m not going to go overboard with the assumptions. With the progress this team has made, I’m giving Ime the benefit of the doubt on just about everything at this point.
Its the same thing with Reed Sheppard, if you are good you will play. Stone intentionally left the backup SG and PG spot open, those spots are for Cam and Reed. If they cant get minutes that means they just arent good enough. In terms of talent Cam is top 10 in his class, but his mentality is wrong from the start. His idol is Carmelo Anthony, that tells you all you need to know.
100% agree. For a supposed scorer, his numbers aren’t that impressive really. If he’s still on the team this season, I truly hope he can turn it around. But it’s all on him. And nobody else.
Cam screwed Cam. Rockets desperately needed a bucket getter last year and Cam didn't make the most of the opportunities he was given. For everyone that says Ime doesn't want to develop rookies, Amen Thompson earning his way into the starting rotation refutes that notion. And it's ridiculous to think that Kevin Durant is interested in Cam's development. He's more likely to advocate to the front office for a trade to bring in someone else he wants to play with.
Why would being from the same Tri-state area make KD want to keep Cam around? Crap, I hate my next door neighbor and can’t wait for them to move. I’d sell his house for free to get them off my street.
So. You made a thread that by the chance that because 2 people were born in adjacent states that they may form a bond because of that. Which may increase the chance that Whitmore remains on the team. WTF am I reading and why are people in this world the way they are? Make a new thread on that.
