Nuggets getting a serviceable player to rest Jokic 10-15 minutes a game for someone who was unplayable. Kings save 5 million.

Any time I ever get frustrated by the Rockets, I always have to remind myself that some cities are stuck with teams like the Kings, Wizards and Pelicans.

I don't think you could leave the NBA just like that if you are under contract. o_O

I think you can always "retire" and forfeit the guaranteed money left in your contract.

From what I gather, he is considering leaving after this upcoming season. I don't think he wants to give up that guaranteed money this upcoming season. Hope I'm wrong though.

JV would have been a great backup C for Jokic, but that is the least of their worries. It's a low minutes position for them.

The Nuggets mainly need improved perimeter play. They can find someone else to play 10 mpg at backup C.

Valancunas is using the overseas offer as leverage to get a multiyear deal from Denver.

Very logical assumption, but I think in this case it doesn't apply. Valanciunas got an offer of 12M euro for 3 years, which is equivalent to around 3yr/28M in the NBA. More guaranteed money. And I'm pretty sure he hates just getting traded from city to city. Toronto>Memphis>New Orleans>Washington>Sacramento>Denver... The NBA journeyman career can be rough, especially with a young family. In Greece he'll get to enjoy the greatest basketball atmosphere in the world, be a Euroleague star and live in a much nicer place.

You are right that he cannot decide whether he wants to be traded/move his family or not....he might have wanted to go to Europe for some while now but that was not reported.....
