Mike Madsen had a REALLY hard 67 years. I don't know that many people realize how bad the last decade of his life was. His son was a teenager - and killed himself. Madsen supposedly lost it and divorced his wife - while his other teenage son was still there, He and his wife blamed each other for the suicide, he stalked her and then she started stalking him. Lots of drinking and health issues - supposedly a man that already had demons just lost it and him and his whole family was never the same. I hope they all find peace.
Rest in peace, I appreciate his work and he was a part of some of my favorite movies. Didn't know his backstory and hope his family finds peace as well.
Life expetancy for males in USA is 75.8 years, the hope for many is to at least get there. Then the years after is gravy.
Virginia Madsen Says ‘I Miss My Big Brother’ After Michael Madsen’s Death: ‘I’ll Miss Our Inside Jokes, the Sudden Laughter, the Sound of Him’ “My brother Michael has left the stage,” Virginia wrote in a statement to Variety. “He was thunder and velvet. Mischief wrapped in tenderness. A poet disguised as an outlaw. A father, a son, a brother — etched in contradiction, tempered by love that left its mark.”
Saw this earlier, really sad to read it. I remember reading about some of the issues he'd had in the last few years, a real shame. Lucky enough to meet him once, he couldn't have been a nicer guy. That kind of effortlessly cool he brought to roles was just part of his DNA, RIP Mr. Blonde.....
He played some great sleeze balls on film. In fact, he's my #1 sleeze character actor. He just had that look and took advantage of it...as he should. In real life, I'm sure he was a terrific person.
