Trump’s objective was to win the 24 hour news cycle.

The fact that Iran still has the enriched uranium just means a future 24 hour news cycle win.

I wonder what they are going to do with that 900 lbs of uranium?

I have more than 900 lbs of scrap iron in my garage. But it's nothing more than scrap iron
Unless I possess the tools to convert it into something.

    I glad we agree.

A nonnuclear Iran makes the world a safer place.

The world except for Iran. The only way they are safe from aggression by foreign nations would be if they were a nuclear power.

    Back on June 5th....

When asked by reporters in the Oval Office as to whether a deadline exists for the implementation of sanction on Russia, Trump replied: "Yes, it's in my brain the deadline," without specifying a date.

Removing Iran from the table has made war more expensive for Russia. Thats ok, now Europe is spending tons more money on defense which profits Americas great war machine. Russia will now make a deal, unknown how painful, and Russia will be welcomed back on the global stage. No need to keep spending more on war. Nobody is going to fk with Russia for a while.

And then most importantly, Trump wins the Nobel Peace Prize

@Nook we've officially given up on Ukraine. What a sad day for the west.

    Reading the tea leaves here.

Trumps US and Putins Russia have made a deal that explains why we are seeing what we are seeing. But there is a wild card.

The US agreed to let Putin take Ukraine. And why not. It’s their backyard. Ukrainians are Slavs. And 110 years ago it was Russia proper.

But what does the US get in return?
We get to put puppets into Russian allies of Syria and Iran using Israelis and their Abraham accords. Why? Both the US and Russia are energy (oil) independent. Europe, India, and China are not. If the US can put in a stranglehold across the oil producing Middle East, then there is an easy to apply vice of the Chinese. But what about Europe? Well Russia is open for business again and the German get their cheap natural gas once more.

    But what’s the wild card?
    China.
China’s only weakness is its energy imports. But it can make everything from the nuts and bolts to the advanced air fighters and missiles at scale. It has its own satellites. It has its own microchips. It has its own software and AI. There are no built in backdoors.

China unlike Russia has not agreed to see the fall of Iran. And I expect China to partner with both Iran and Pakistan to contain both the US/EU and India. While India will turn toward Russia, the US will do everything in its power to flip Russian against China as Russia is especially vulnerable along its Manchurian flank.

But the sad truth is, even if we have a military technological advantage of 10 years, the Chinese can outproduce us at scale without breaking a sweat. Winning the Middle East is the only option the US has to maintain its hegemony. But that means the death of hundreds of thousands to millions of Arabs and Iranians.

Sadly this was expected and unsurprising even to the Europeans who had been preparing for this. The big question I have though is when does Trump order or turn the screws against Lockheed, Raytheon, etc. and force them to stop completing orders for Poland, France, etc. who are purchasing as much patriots and other weapons they can get for Ukraine and themselves??

That’s really what Europe has been doing even before Trump won and they saw it was even a remote possibility Trump could win per friends I have in the industry.

I know the “principled” free market “libertarians” will surely at that speak out against Trump when he inevitably tried to federalize the private arms industry to serve his corrupt whims.

We traded with Russia the sovereignty of Ukraine and I’ll assume the rest of the Baltics for the right to be the suzerain of the whole Middle East.
