https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/p/plowdda01.html The 3% is insane. Looks like he hits his FTs. Looks like defense could use some work.
Cam Whitmore has been linked to the Lakers in a potential sign-and-trade for Dorian Finney-Smith, per @AnthonyIrwinLA “Another name league sources have linked to the Lakers: Cam Whitmore. If Houston decides to shed a little salary or if they expand the Kevin Durant trade to include their acquisition of Dorian Finney-Smith, Whitmore – who is looking for a larger role than he’d have on that loaded Rockets roster – is considered a candidate to be moved.”
I really don`t get it. Yeah he regressed last season and yeah, his attitude seems to be off and yeah he looked bad on defense at times. But he is not very expensive, he looked like on of our best offensive weapons off the bench with instant offense and he is still just 20 years old. If we don`t like him, showcase him and trade him at the trade deadline for a protected frp or something. His value right now seems to be at an all time low with even a release seeming realistic. Only way this makes any sense to me is, if we get some draft picks (2nd rounders probably) back or use his and Jocks salary for a decent 2 guard. But I would much prefer to keep him on the roster and decide at the deadline, what to do with him. By that time because of injuries there surely will be some desperate team to take a flyer on his cheap contract.
Send him anywhere but Fakers or GSW (or Thunder) Fun fact: I was a Run-TMC fan b/c I lived in the Bay back then. That was a fun team to watch.
Lakers fans are already going crazy if this happens. I think it would be great for him to play and train with LeBron. Serious question to clutchfans without, starring a thread. If this happens, where Cam goes to the Lakers. Who reaches their full potential first, Cam or Jalen?
Yeah, that's a 20 year old for you. And for someone with a bad attitude, I am sure I've seen him trying to grow his game and contribute in ways beyond scoring, things that don't come naturally. He passes just fine in transition, on ball defense is ok and effort is there... yeah he gets lost on team defense and rotations. Obviously I'm not in the practices and meetings, so If he was pulling KPJ or Christian Wood nonsense behind the scene, I'd have a diff opinion of both him and I'd praise the coaches/FO for keeping it in house... so I keep that in mind but otherwise I am baffled by the situation.
I really wish they could just give him one more year. An instant offense scorer off the bench is something lacking in the lineup without him. I know there's more to the story that we couldn't possibly know, but it's such a shame.
It looks like a record number of teams are in on this trade. My guess is that Brooklyn or someone else ends up with Whitmore. We're going to need a huge flow chart when it's over.
No, sorry, never heard of him until you brought him up. I had to go look up who you were talking about.
Thanks for clarifying. But trading Cam for “flexibility” sucks. I want a hard asset back. If that’s the best we can do that hugely disappointing …and to a conference rival? Come on.
Definitely don't want Cam on the Lakers. He blows up there we will never hear the end of it from the media. Send him to Washington where he will be invisible no matter what he does.
This seems to coincide with what Jackson said on his latest video about Cam which is that he and his camp are the ones pushing for a trade.
