Where should Diaz be in the batting order? Not where he is now.

Like I said, it all depended on how he felt after the long half-inning...the extra long 3-run half inning helped I'm sure.

I was saying last season he was disappointing. He wasn't bad, just disappointing - but nobody agreed with me. Now, he's not even hitting decently. His only saving grace is the fact he's a catcher - a 100 OPS+ would be passable. But again, he's not even doing that.

Explain to me how in the hell Hummel wasn't further along the basepaths.

I was shocked when I didn't see him scoring with ease, instead being a dead duck.

He should have been halfway to 3rd when the ball bounced. I bet he barely turned passed 2nd.

Yeah, that was surprising to say the least. He must be slower than I thought he was…

His defense has been fine. Also he handles the pitching staff well. He has had a bad 1st half of the season offensively.

RF got an above average bounce off the wall, and Hummel's speed is below average.

Is this the worst base running franchise in baseball history?

They rolled out their 5 best relievers last night, they rolled out 2 of them again tonight while the game was tied.

When he batted 8th a few games ago, he had 3 hits including a HR. Joe put him 5th the very next game. I think Diaz should bat 8th or 9th until he digs out of his slump. A little less pressure.

Somebody get in Joe's ear and tell him Okert is his 3rd best reliever. Much better than King.

There's only so many 8th/9th hitters you can have in a lineup though.

Middle of August, Clemens pitching another dandy vs Milwaukee having lowered his ERA to 1.26. At this point I am seriously wondering if he could really threaten Gibson's 68 season. Then he gets pummeled in the 7th inning.
