    you’re something else.

and Dillon was above average in offensive efficiency last season with 117.3 rating, well above the league average rating of 110.

If Durant stays healthy, we will be better at offense than last season. Even if we had kept Jalen, we would be better as the young guys improve slightly on the margin. The young guys still here will be marginally better - and maybe even dramatically better (Jabari, Reed Sheppard, Tari). Over all, the Rockets should be a top ten offense with KD playing 60+ games. Even Jalen had become a positive impact player on the court by BPM, but as the highest usage perimeter player and his $35MM/year salary, he wasn't efficient enough or strong enough to take us to the promised land when the Refs let the defense maul perimeter players.

We have all the tools to be a very good offense. It is on Ime’s shoulders from here. I have little doubt that Sengun will be more efficient and Amen unlocked his offense the latter part of the year and in the playoffs. DFS is Dillon’s replacement and is better on both sides of the court, but is not as spirited. Neither are great at one on one offense. Both are good at spot up shooting. DFS is much better than Dillon as a rebounder and his length on defense fits like a glove with our unit. Our defense and rebounding got better.

Our shooting got better. Only Ime can screw this up by playing an FVV centric offense instead of utilizing FVV as the very good spot up shooter he is. I think a lot of people are going to be surprised with the difference in offense this season. Amen is going to explode as a distributor and 15-19 points a night scorer. FVV is going to play great pg defense and his 3 pt shooting will improve by camping in the corners. As long as Durant stays healthy we will be a top 10 offense and a top 3 defense. That’s championship level. As always, injuries will play big part in our success or lack thereof.

    One thing is for certain,

    Durant and Smith Bros
    (Jabari and Dorian)
    going rock the 3pt shots.

Durant and Dorian top % in league.
No worries. Fred also can hit the 3.

Unleash Cam, he needs to be playing 20-25 mins a game off the bench,
as well as Reed, These 2 need playing time.

KD will provide an efficient 25+ ppg

Sengun should provide an efficient 20+ ppg…at least, he better…Idk wtf this past season was with all the smoked layups and Jalen Green level efficiency

FVV, Amen, and Jabari will all provide double figures in scoring

the rest will get in where they fit in and offensive boards off the bricks will generate points as well as we rely on our defense to carry us through

Everyone loves bringing up OKC, and their offense was completely underwhelming for a lot of the postseason, and they only shot 34% from deep.

I actually looked into this a little bit. It appears most good teams average around 60 - 70 ppg via their top three offensive options. KD will easily average 25, I’m guessing Sengun gets back to around 22, and I’ll bet Amen takes a step forward and averages around 18. That’s 65 ppg right there. Add in another 25 - 30 between FVV and Smith and you’re looking at 90 - 95 ppg just from our starters.

The BEST ABILITY is AVAILABILITY! KD missed 20 games last yr, Im hoping he can play in 62 games or more this yr. I think with our depth, we can makeup for any length of time he probably miss.

However, Im seeing where people are saying Jalen is a bust and won't be missed....COUGH! COUGH! Bull$/it!

Was he inefficient? Yes! But also, you have to admit he carried the Rockets to a numerous amount of wins and to be available, when Sengun was out, Jabari was out, FVV was out, Tari was out and still end up #2 in the West....to say he won't be missed is ridiculous.

Durant is "alright"? 27 points a night on 54/44 shooting is "alright"?

Jalen isn't a big loss, he was inefficient and inconsistent.

Brooks was good from 3 last season, but not from within the arc.

He is a shooter and a role player, he will get shots off of pressure applied to KD, Sengun and Sheppard.

    More efficient than Green.

He is low on the pecking order for scoring, his job is to protect the ball.

He was in last year - hard to say for next year as he has been improving quickly.

They have Sengun and a number of role players.

    You will be disappointed.

I think you're missing the key point. Its not about who is the more reliable scorer, its about availability. I was happy we got KD but I thought it would have been better to add him with Jalen.

Defense is good but you NEED offense!

Im a Rocket's fan no matter who's on the team, I just didnt like that they traded their highest scorer from last yr.

A thin cleverly disguised thread about the Rockets are a poor FT team. If you ask any NBA GM would you trade Durant for Jalen, I’m sure most would do it. The playoffs shows if you have it or not, Jabari does and Jalen doesn’t. Jalen has butterfingers when the game is close. Winning championship is mental than talent.. Jalen don’t have ot

The offense last year was not good enough. Jalen and Dillon were two of the more useful offensive players but were replaced by 1 great offensive player in the trade. The Rockets replace 2 players offensive production with 1 and now are going to rely heavily on three guys to take a jump. I expect these three players to increase usage and ppg.

Amen is going to have to up his usage and average 18ppg

Jabari is going to have to up his usage and average 16ppg

Reed is going to have to up his usage and average 12ppg

I would imagine this team will be significantly better offensively in games Durant plays in and I don't see a steep decline defensively for anything except Reed's minutes. All that said - this team will probably lose a few more games. For all Jalen's faults, he was mostly an iron man and showed up against bad teams on random Wednesday games. That's a BIG reason why we ended up with the 2 seed last year because Fred and maybe Alpi could sit out of a random Utah game after a back to back and the team still had a shot to win. Unless Cam takes a leap/shows up with a new perspective - I think we could lose 5ish more games this year but overall be a much more solid team.....and I think it's possible Stone still acquires someone else - Cam is obviously on the trade block and they are probably actively shopping Landale because they don't need 3 Centers so maybe Houston can come away with a less versatile 'get buckets' guy with that if we don't decide to just try Cam in that role(which I think he is well suited to).
