I don't think we can bring back anyone who makes more than 3.7M for Cam anyway. The issue will be that because we used the MLE we are hard capped at the first apron. To keep Cam on the roster, we must waive the NG Jock and Nate. Then we are left with 14 rostered players and 261k wiggle room. So it would be Cam for picks replaced by a vet min guy
honestly I’d love to use Cam as part of a package to get into the 2026 draft. Cam and a future pick. We don’t want to sit out two consecutive drafts.
This thread is wild- people are comparing Whitmore to hall of famers and thinking he can be traded for Dyson Daniels, or Christian Braun...lol.
Cam Whitmore has clashed with Ime and the top Rockets brass according to rumors. If Cam is disgruntled to the detriment of the team, then he needs to go. That fact Cam Whitmore is uber talented, is but a moot point, if all he does is be a clog in the gears. For all of you Cam Whitmore apologists, the Rockets have a tight 2-3 year window of being calibrated and synchronized. There is no time to baby Cam Whitmore to his full potential, especially if he needs mental maturity. Simply put, everyone has to be on the same page, or else they are an unnecessary hindrance. Some may say that Cam may go on to be a multiple all-star, for which he does have that level of physical talent. But does he have the mental toughness to reach that zenith before it all clicks?
That 2-3 window is having fun until the 2nd window opens up with the youth. 37 year old KD is not an excuse to sell out. The numbers of stars his age to LEAD their team to a ring is basically non existent
Can somebody tell me what exactly happened between Ime & Cam? Did Cam just call him a b**** for playing Holiday and Tate over him and Ime got sensitive?

Why don't we play Cam 25 mins per game in 1st half of season, then decide to trade him or not? Trading Cam at low point is a bad idea.
I am not high on Cam. If his behavior and attitude are detrimental to the team, then ee should trade it. But right now his value is pretty low.
You don't have to be on nobody's side to know that a clean cut is the best for both sides. Yeah, yeah, he could have matured.....but Rox were also eager to draft him while others would not.
