It's July first, so time to start the new trade thread. With so much activity already it's almost anticlimactic, but we still have Cam and Jock in play apparently.
Seems like they going to keep Cam. Jock / Nate will be let go. Hopefully Cam gets a chance to earn minutes. I think he would thrive in a fast paced bench unit with Reed, Amen and Tari.
I wish they would keep Cam, but it seems like Coach has a laser focus and Whitmore is a distraction. If he's going it will likely be attached with Jock, that should be settled by the 7th. Nate needs to go, never saw why we signed him.

I mean, I think we’re done for the moment (aside from releasing Landale). I don’t think it’s a coincidence we’ll be like a penny under the first apron at 14 players.
The whole league remains on Giannis-watch including The Rockets w/ teams positioning to react if/when Giannis demands a trade. Don't believe reports to the contrary. Giannis is leaving Milwaukee either this offseason or at the trade deadline. Book it
You could very well be right. Cam needs to play in summer league, but I doubt he will. I really don’t see a path for him to get minutes, unless he blows Ime away with his pre-season play (defense and true playmaking). Most likely he just sits the bench until a move at the deadline or if someone ponies up a FRP.
All you have to do is browse through this thread for a minute and people will tell you that we don’t have any guards. Most of them probably don’t even know he’s on the team. Either we don’t have enough, or we can’t find playing time for all the ones we have. Either way, his contract is non-guaranteed until the first game of the season. So we don’t have to make any knee-jerk decision on him.
I think he's going to refuse to budge this offseason for a couple of reasons... He still views himself as Milwaukee's savior and he also seems to have an inflated sense of value in Milwaukee's chances to compete in the East. I think after the first couple of months of the season without Dame and Lopez where the starting 4 players around him are likely Kuzma, Portis, Porter, & Trent he will realize they are fighting for the bottom half of the east if not fighting for a play in spot. Once they trade Giannis that is easily one of the worst teams in the NBA.

It depends on how we categorize Amen. With FVV, Amen, Reed, Holiday and Williams that's 5 guards. As I said above Williams is not someone we want on the roster that's going for a championship. Holiday is a perfect "break in case of emergency" backup. That leaves us 96 mins to split between FVV, Amen and Reed (32 mins each or obviously more for Amen and sprinkle Holiday in). I realize that isn't an ideal guard rotation, but we'll likely have 3 wings (Durant, Bari, Tari, F-S) with 1 post and one guard for part of each game. Naturally, we all want a more traditional shooting guard and perhaps one still materializes. I haven't mentioned Cam because he seems to be in limbo. He'd fit beautifully in that 3 wing lineup or could play some 2 guard as well. Personally, I'd love for him to embrace a role that Ime believes he can contribute with and we give him another shot, but that just seems unlikely now. Hope I'm wrong.
Giannis on this Rockets team means championship. Sengun,jock,cam, and tari plus 3 picks and 2 swaps. That would make us the fav and the best team in the NBA by a good margin. Between me and yall... i am sick of all that soft international 5 play. I wouldnt mind keeping him...but I would drive Sengun to Milwaukee myself for GA.
I'm still surprised they didn't acquire a single backcourt player. They must have a lot of faith in Amen's ability to play in the backcourt (which I personally agree with) and Reed's ability to be decent off the bench (not so sure, but maybe).
