Cam shot .403 from January 1st to end of season on 56/139...... He shot better than Jalen did for the year..... His shot is pure, he had a rough start for sure. He was 1-21 to start. https://www.espn.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/5105592/cam-whitmore DD
Unless Finney-Smith is getting SG minutes, there could be 10 or so consistent minutes there for Whitmore. He's most likely being traded, but if he stays, I hope they can give him a meaningful role this season.
Jock's contract matches CC's. The Rockets are also sending a future 2nd plus cash considerations to the Hawks in this deal per Iko.
Yes he does, every time he got extended minutes, his job is a scorer, and just like Grimes he put it up....and scored. DD
I'm not sure about that. Initially, the Cam trade speculation was based on teams specifically inquiring about him. There wasn't anything about the Rockets shopping him or desperately wanting to get rid of him at first. And Honestly, I still haven't seen sources saying that the Rockets just absolutely want him gone. This is what Shams said less than a week ago: That doesn't sound like a guy that doesn't have value. And if the Rockets just wanted to get rid of him, I'm sure they could have gotten a couple seconds for him...Or I'm sure LA or Atl would take him in a sign and trade... Something is not adding up to me. It never really made sense to me to just get rid of a 20 yr old (youngest player on the team) who has shown high level scoring flashes unless there was some really bad stuff going on behind the scenes...which we haven't heard reports of. There's speculation about attitude issues...Players get disgruntled it happens...But we haven't heard any reports about things just being so bad that he can't return. In fact there was always the added caveat in these Cam rumors that he could be brought back. I trust what I see more than what I hear. So far, based on the moves that have been made it looks like they have cleared the run way for both Cam and Reed to get minutes. It's a long off season so things could always change, but they haven't brought in anyone that can provide a scoring punch off the bench. They haven't brought in any guards that would clearly be ahead of Cam or Reed. And it's not like guys weren't available. Maybe they are trying to get Coby White? I dunno...But that would be hard to pull off with a guy who isn't valued...
With as much depth as we have now I actually want to keep Cam and see if the ridiculously good talent around him raises his game and his awareness of what he has to learn to be able to get time on the court.
Cam didn't pass a lot. That's a fact. Only him and Dillon Brooks had more minutes played than passes made. But if you double Cam's minutes to equal Brooks, the times they received the ball and the times they passed the ball is about the same. Yet we never heard the black hole stuff about Dillon. One big difference between the two though is that Cam didn't usually pass just to pass. He had one of the highest assist to pass ratios on the team. Also, just like his college team, the Rockets weren't a good passing team overall as far as generating assists or just simply moving the ball. Rockets were dead last in passes made per game and in the bottom five of most other passing categories.
lol it is just a position and he plays small forward mostly What is the primary role of a small forward? be small? he is a combo player, really
