With this signing maybe they are saying they know Jabari is not a good enough 3rd C to help win a title. Clint is the rim protector rim runner we need at times in the lineup. Gives Steven a break at times also, save him for the playoffs. Would still like to see us get Gary Trent Jr to complete the offseason.

Cam getting traded to make the salaries work...would we have enough cap space to sign Gary Trent Jr?

lol no he wasn't. Not when he played. Sengun can't jump or move and gets scored on at the rim way too easily.

Why can't Sengun guard him when he faced him?

Sengun had more defensive win shares because he played 9 more games.

    Defensive Box Plus/Minus........Giannis 2.5 Sengun 1.8
Value over replacement Giiannis 6.6 Sengun 3.9

On this team he is a Landale replacement who is going to play a bit more. He is also insurance for Adams who is inevitably going to miss some time for health reasons. its that simple. This team does not have a hole in the the back court. Stone and Ime just don't view the SG position the same way you do. Guys we can plug in at 2: Amen, Tari, Fred, DFS, Reed. They value flexibility on defense and switch ability. All of these guys can accomplish that. On offense they just have to hit open 3's created by Alpi, KD or Amen. Thats it.

Jock Landale was brought in to be a back up center as a last minute shift because Brook Lopez left the Rockets at the altar.

He was not paid 8 million to be a third stringer. Injuries diminished his value so much that the rockets traded for an injured Steven Adams to be the back up the next year.

seven million is not normal third string money. That’s veteran’s minimum and guys fighting for roster spots. Steven maybe needed insurance because of health but Jabari can play back up five in small lineups.

The rockets can spin this how they want, it reeks as if there’s another move coming.

I was confused like most people with the move at first. But if you simply look at it as swapping Landale for Capela, it makes sense.

Cheaper, better defender, better rebounder, and say everyone's favorite - lob threat. Only thing Jock has over Clint was the 3 ball (i suppose?). He's also Steven Adams insurance. I'm not sure what this says about N'faly Dante though. I would have liked to see more of him.

Also a very tradeable asset if it doesn't work out. As long as we didn't give up Cam for this, I like the move.

I like that Simmons always makes fun of his team but it is still his team.

Even when the Celtics are tanking.

This makes no sense they just signed Steven Adams? Unless they getting ready to do a trade?
