Whoa. Clears $18 million in salary off of the Nuggets books. Also puts a $40 million MPJ on the Nets roster in 2026-2027... the Rockets own that pick.
[Smith] Financial impact of the BKN-DEN trade: Nets with $16.6M cap space remaining (flexible pending Day'Ron Sharpe/Ziaire Williams re-signings) | Nuggets are now about $13.6M under the first apron. Puts Nuggets in range to use most of Non-Taxpayer MLE.
Only two years too late. Have been calling for Denver to trade him for a while now, seeing him butcher their possessions the past few years having always had Jokic in fantasy, hurt me a lot. Bruce Brown back to the Nuggets is a solid pick up - his off ball movement and cutting is vital for Jokic.
Which year is that pick? MPJ huge problem is that he doesn't pass the Ball at all when he gets it, completely ignores his teammates.
Can't wait for all the Jokic superfans to start saying Cam Johnson is holding him back from another championship.
Nice moves by Denver. I think they still need one more solid rotation player to step back into "true contender" status, but they definitely got better.
Great trade by the Nuggets but seems like their money comes too little too late. Who is left for that MLE? Gary Trent prob wished he waited a little bit.
MPJ is a good player. But he is seldom 100% healthy. Nets get a damaged good. Hope they suck until we finish using their pick.
2032 unprotected is a heavy price to pay for a guy who's a total zero on defense but money is the only thing that ownership group cares about
They have a window with Jokic and they need to take advantage of it. I don't think the deal was worth it from a talent perspective, but considering that Cam can provide them what MPJ was already providing plus the Nuggets have some room to sign some more help, I think it's the price they are paying to attempt to be competitive with Jokic.
Ya i understand it, Cam is just SO injury prone and SO bad on defense that it's rough, since all they gained is cash savings.
Free agent. He got traded from Toronto to New Orleans at the deadline in the Brandon Ingram trade. Hasn't done much at all since leaving Denver.
