Still not happy about it. Hope he proves me wrong. Hoping to see our youth develop. Perhaps he allows KD to rest more.

Nah. Remember how we scheme against teams on defense, that's the plan. Finney bodying up Wemby at the 3 pt line.

So looks like we're done with the finances the way they are. Our guard depth is going to be pretty rough.

There is no way Milwaukee takes bread & filler for Giannis when they don't control their first round pick until 2031 so tanking is not a (viable) option.

I’m happy. I just watched a Finney-Smith YouTube video of his play and he made every shot. Guy looks awesome!

Even if we release Landale and give Cam away for draft picks? I figured they were done with this signing, but didn’t think it would be over the first Apron.

Cam is the only one we're giving up on, still super young, KD resting is exactly why this move is even bigger...

So depth chart taking focus --

    FVV/Reed/Holiday
    Amen/(Whitmore)/N. Williams
    Durant/DFS/Tate/[Roddy]
    Bari/Tari
    Alpi/Adams/Green/[Dante]

The Rockets still have Landale/Whitmore to move as chips, though likely just salary clearance. We'll see if they get anything from the Lakers to include Whitmore as part of a SnT.

I wouldn't mind a scorer/shooter type 2, but impressive work overall by Stone to lock this in. Rockets still have one more two way (Cam Matthews) and one more roster slot they could fill. They could look at up to 3 more min level roster fill outs depending on Whitmore and Nate Williams (non-guaranteed).

The Rockets will play large this year -- it looks like Amen/Durant/DFS/Tari will get most of the 2 guard minutes.

We won’t be over the first apron, just over the tax even if we trade Cam and release Landale (I believe at least). This may be our last FA acquisition for a while.

With jabari, finney, and durant (presumably) all on 3+ yr contracts, i think tari is tradeable. Only problem is that i wouldnt give him up for anything but a starter and we dont need a starter.

Looks like we are going to be load managing KD so this signing makes more sense.

He needs to make that official as Codman alluded to first, a lot of moving pieces around the entire league are in a holding pattern until then, perhaps even Cam...

According to Bima, we will now be hard capped under the first apron. That leaves very little wiggle room to spend. This prices us out of Kennard. There may be enough room left to sign GT Jr. He was for sure high on my list for FA this year to add a shooter.
