Yeah - I don't think that there was/is a lot of demand for Jalen Green. He isn't untradeable, but not for something that the Suns wanted. The Suns wanted Eason or Smith and the Rockets did not want to part with them, so the discussions moved on to Jalen Green with the idea that the Rockets would get an asset for Jalen that the Suns wanted and that did not happen. The Suns kept Jalen and will try to move him later if he doesn't fit in. Jalen Green doesn't have a lot of value around the league, he has shown thus far in his career that he is not a good enough player to be a #1 option. Perhaps this year he becomes more efficient and he can see his value raise. Also - I don't dislike Jalen Green, I think he works hard and I think he has improved in some areas - but not for his pay and role. I have no idea if I said you cannot believe everything you read.
If OKC can trade Josh Giddy, who at the time had ZERO OFFENSIVE GAME, and was just looked at as just a passer. Im sure Phoenix or Houston could have found someone for Jalen. Giddy was played off the floor in the playoffs last year and now he's on the verge of signing a $30M+ a yr extension. Like I said, I think the issue was the Suns were holding out for additional draft capital, in the way of another #1 draft pick. Jabari and Tari's contracts were never a fit in the trade.
What you are saying is not what people close to the Rockets told me - but I wasn't in the room so I can only go based on what I was told.
All of it is "No source" speculation, there hasn't been a single legitimate source for anything. Not one. It is the sickening part of social media. DD
What trade pkg would have made up the salaries by including Cam and Jabari w/o depleting the roster? Cam and Jabari does not have enough salary to be the center of a major trade at this point. If the Suns had waited until after Jabari signed his new contract and waited until December, I could understand. However, if they wanted either of them, they would have to take FVV or Sengun to make up the salary.
And if he does, become a star, whomever decided to trade him should be fired.....your sole job as GM/Coach is to recognize talent and to nurture it and coach it up. If you can't do that - you are in the wrong profession - anyone can manage Kevin Durant..... You answered your own question - Jabari's contract doesn't kick in until next year it would have had to be like Landale, Cam, Brooks, Jabari, Tate or something like that.... DD
But didn't you just go on a multiple page rant that people on clutchfans keep posting no source speculation but now you're admitting to doing the same thing? Even worse, there's not one report that Suns actually want Cam...
Haha this idiot is still overrating Jalen, no matter how many times it's hammered home by the league that no one values him. Mental illness is a real thing.
Of course, it is all ****ing speculation, can't beat em, join em....who the heck cares? It is a message board, we are all on here b****ing, moaning, speculating....about nothing - same as on Twitter and any other social platform where being FIRST is more important than being accurate, it is disgraceful. I hate the offseason and all of this crap - I need a gummy. Edward R. Murrow is rolling over in his grave. DD
I could be wrong but its hard for me to phantom a 23yr old who fits today's NBA and avg 20ppg on a good team could not be traded? It doesnt correlate
I see what it is. When someone posts a report, even from a top reporter like Sham, that doesn't validate your opinion, it's not good to post it here. If the report matches your opinion suddenly it's justified as "it's just a message board, ANYTHING GOES!",... even if there wasn't a report to begin with.
I am guessing all of the rumors of DFS interests to Houston leading up to the signing wasn't legitimate at all and was just no source speculation
