If there's no plan to give him minutes, then they ARE "selling high". Without minutes, his trade value is only going to go down from here.
I don't really get why the Rockets are quite so low on Whitmore. Even with his tunnel vision is on court impact hasn't really been a negative. However I trust Udoka, he sees more than we get to see at practice and behind the scenes. Not to mention how Cam plummeted in the draft, so it isn't as if we're the only team that has seen an issue.
Weird, just the other day you said Suns asked for Cam That being said, I would've wanted Fleming over Cam too
People here acting like they know Cam more than the coaches/organization that have been with him closely for the last 2 years.
The Suns asked for Cam instead of Jalen.... At least that is what I read, but I guess no one knows for real so much bullshit floating around. DD
Deal doesn't work without Jalen's salary. Jalen was in there as salary filler. Maybe the Suns wanted Cam too or not, but Jalen being in the deal is unrelated to whether the Suns wanted Cam.
Where did you read that? I haven't read that anywhere and when you posted it, I looked and couldn't find anything. Only report I see is Suns preferred second round picks, which ultimately was used for Fleming (good choice), over Cam.
Yes, it would have been a different deal with Cam - they would have needed lots more pieces..... I don't care to argue anymore "What if" or "Rumors" .....we just have to wait and see and hope the org doesn't **** it up. Already, it is a massive risk to try to build around a 37 year old injury prone Durant - I didn't mind it, not a bad shot, as we still had all positions covered with young talent, but if we continue to chase 30 somethings and replace 20 somethings with them, our window will be very short. I would have preferred the OKC build along the way route...... But whatever. DD
The Suns did not want Jalen Green. The Rockets attempted to find a third team to trade Green to - they couldn't find one. The Suns choose multiple second round picks over Cam Whitmore.
It seemed like you were OK with the KD trade as long as they got rid of Jalen, now that they're looking at trading Cam, its looking like they are going in the wrong direction? I said it from the start, this is not the path to take. I would have given Jalen another yr, brought in Malauch and with the EXTRA YR OF MATURITY and the PLAYOFF EXPERIENCE this team would have been on par with OKC. This is on Ime!
Right they asked for it to be Cam instead of Jalen and a bunch of other players, the Rockets refused, and said take Jalen or nothing. Then when they acquiesced they didn't want 3 wings, so Cam stayed. DD
You actually believe no one else wanted Jalen Green?? A 23yr old who lead his team in scoring and to the #2 Seed in the West? As much as you might dislike him, you can not discount that he improved last yr. I think the Suns were holding out for an additional #1 pick or Jarbi, finding a 3rd team for Jalen was not the hold up. BTW, didn't you say you can't believe everything you read?
They sure did, he was to be in the package no matter what, Phoenix asked for Bari, Cam and a few others with picks, Stone held firm said Jalen or bust.....and they caved in.....took our weak link as payment. DD
